The Superhero Cinematic Civil War: Quoth the Kraven, "Nevermore." - Part 61

Ain't no way this man is talking about Doc Ock 2.

I had her trading card too, you had to be there. :o

So Warner Bros is releasing the complete series of Captain Planet on dvd October 15

Adding that to my Xmas list.

I need DVD releases of Space Ghost Coast to Coast and the Real Adventures of Jonny Quest next.

What they need to do is give us 90s b listers like Kaine, Stunner and Doc Ock 2 and quit playing before Sony gives them spinoffs. :sneeze:

We still need to see Scorpion, Kraven, Carnage, Rhino (done properly), and let's throw in Tombstone and Hammerhead as street level villains for good measure in a Spider-Man movie before we get to any of those. And you know what, throw Venom in there for good measure. It doesn't have to be Hardy but Spider-Man 3 was nowhere near enough of a face off for those two.

As long as Spider-Man 4 is more personal and grounded I'm all for Cretton being on board. I really liked the fight choreography in Shang-Chi and he can definitely do some cool stuff with Spider-Man.

I'd even be down to seeing how he would handle Daredevil if they decide to bring Charlie Cox on board which is what I'm really hoping for but if not he's still a more inspired choice than Watts IMO.

I'm also hoping the cinematography is much better this time around. As much as I enjoy the Watts trilogy overall those movies could have used a lot more style like the Raimi films.

Either way, I'm definitely excited to see what they got in store.

Dude that's another reason why I really, really loathe that Sony has the keys to the Spidey kingdom. In another world, Maximum Carnage done properly in the MCU could've been a huge event movie.

But NOOOOO. We couldn't even get Woody in his OG Annie wig.

Just from Shang-Chi I feel like Cretton can deliver a solid Spider-Man flick. This'll probably never happen in anything but the two of them sharing the screen in an Avengers movie but I wouldn't even mind seeing a Spidey and Shang-Chi team up story because this was my introduction to Shang-Chi way back when:

No real reason other than I think Simu Liu and Tom Holland would play well off each other.

Sony's gonna completely mess this up. The obvious thing to do that everybody wants is to make a "back to basics" Spidey film where he hits the streets, builds his life back from the ground up and teams up with Daredevil and Black Cat against the Kingpin, Hammerhead and Enforcers. But I feel it in my bones that Sony's not gonna do anything close to that. They're gonna try to top NWH in scale somehow. Which means Tobey and Andrew are coming back because money.

Riddle me this.

We already had Norman in NWH, so let's say for Earth 616 instead of having him, they give us the Hobgoblin.

Would yall be okay with that choice?
I would be fine with Hobgoblin, but not in a multiverse story. We are probably getting someone crappy like Morlun

What stings is, waiting 4+ years for a sequel normally would be just fine...but its waiting for 4+ years on a resolution to a massive cliffhanger ending. Imagine if we had to wait 4 years between Infinity War and Endgame?

you cannot do two-parters unless you're absolutely certain they're going to come out within close proximity with each other.

I always wondered how we would’ve suffered if the pandemic happened between Infinity War and Endgame.

I would’ve lost my damn mind.
