The Superhero Cinematic Civil War: Quoth the Kraven, "Nevermore." - Part 61

Great debate last night.

Ugh. I would love to see a Hal and John series where they’re roughly the same age. If Hal has to be older than John, then maybe 5 years. Not a fan of the older Hal mentors younger John trope.

GL has potential to spawn numerous sequels and spin-offs. Not giving Hal and John their proper origin stories and adventures is cheating the fan base.
I don’t want to see Hal’s origin any more than I want to see origins of why Sonny Crockett joined Miami PD and rose the ranks from patrolman to narcotics detective. I don’t care. I’m glad this is called “Lanterns” instead of Hal Jordan or even Green Lantern (singular). I’ve never found Hal to be an interesting character on his own. Really, the only Lantern with an origin that I really find fascinating is Jessica, because hers is so special.

I’m not a Hal guy, so I don’t really care if he dies or not. But I doubt that the show will be “it was about Hal. Now it’s about Jon.” Or at least I hope it won’t be. My hope is that it truly is an ensemble where all of the Lanterns get to shine (no pun intended. Or maybe it was intended)

Lex is also smart enough to keep his sinister ulterior motives a secret from the public, unlike Mr. "HAITIANS ARE EATING YOUR PETS!" :o
Lol!!! Everytime I see someone quote that or watch that clip, I just start uncontrollably laughing, lol! It's legit one of the funniest things I have ever seen! It was just so surreal and absurd!

The Halloween Superhero Horror Movie Hootenanny continues :oldrazz:

Blade (1998)

It's been so long since I last saw this film, I'd almost forgotten what a trip it is...

I wasn't ready for the opening sequence at the Blood Bath nightclub the first time I saw this film, and it still packs a punch today. I'd also almost forgotten how lived-in and authentic this universe feels, with absent parents, friendship betrayals, and murdered lovers hanging over the movie like a shroud. There is real pain in this world, and loss. I love the fact that Blade has gone on to develop a cult following and is Marvel's first successful film.

What more can I say? Kris Kristofferson is a badass, N'Bushe Wright is a queen, and special shoutout to Wesley here. He brings just the right combination of menace, smartass, mischievousness, and sexiness to the title role. I have no doubt that Mahershala could play the **** out of this character (if the damn reboot ever gets off the ground), but Wesley's portrayal will always hold a special place in my heart :hrt:

Next up: Blade II (2002)

That he brought it up at all is funny enough but the punchline for me was the "I saw it on television!" after he got fact checked.

Dude he really went there.

I am still laughing. He’s so ignorant and so unhinged.
I'm still laughing at the way he pronounces "MEEELLIONS" and "BEEEEELLIONS". This mother****er is supposed to be from Queens and the way he says it makes it sound like some weird hybrid between a French accent and Ren Höek.

I didn't even know he was fact checked initially. The wife and I were laughing so hard I missed like the next 4 mins and had to rewind it back. I literally was in tears laughing lol!!!

Kind of amazing how Jeff Sneider single handedly caused all this chaos with one tweet. Shows what times we're living in.
It also shows he js an idiot who has no idea what they're talking about and just posts clickbait to grift off people
