Oswalda Cobblepot begs to differ!

If it makes you feel better, the movie will probably not do as well as its predecessor.
I actually liked the first film quite a bit, but based on Todd Philips continued disdain when being asked about comic book references, and some of the story points i've heard for the second film, I'm very much ready for this "Joker in disguise" saga to be over.

In other news, Im excited for Agatha! And its Penguin week!

I didn't even realize the third Jurassic World made over a billion
All I ever heard about it was how big of a piece of s*** it was
But audiences eat up terrible movies all the time, so I guess I shouldn't be surprised

It did a quiet billion. Largely due to international audiences.

Yeah, it absolutely was a piece of **** and perhaps the worst Jurassic movie (yes, even worse than the one where a dinosaur says “Alan”). But people love crap.

It did give quite a bit more new dinos, which really, is the real draw to the movie.

I'm pumped for Agatha. I've been rewatching WandaVision, and I'm about to press play on the finale, followed by a rewatch of MoM. Hell, it's going to be my first time watching the movie uninterrupted. I've told the story before, but opening night, the person sitting behind me projectile vomited on me and my friend, and we had to leave with like 15 minutes of the movie remaining. Had to finish it by watching a cam-rip, lol.

Clearly slow news cycle when this is the debate lol

I hope Agatha is a pleasant surprise, i just cant bring myself to be hyped about it. But i give Marvel credit for trying something out of the box.

If you're not gay or a girl or have a massive crush on the leads... This may not be it, chief. :p

I’d be more interested in Agatha if it weren’t an MCU thing, but I’ll still watch for the cast.

Hyped as hell for the Penguin.

Also my bb Shogun just crushed GoT’s record for most Emmys won for a single season of TV. It’s what she deserves!!!:wowe:

All in all, good week for TV, I’d say.

Shogun was my favourite show this year! Hiroyuki and Anna deserved the wins!

Started watching the 1980 miniseries with Richard Chamberlain and Toshiro Misfune for the first time with my roommate, so we can watch the 2024 version immediately after and compare them. Also plan on reading the novel as well.

Also great to see John Rhys-Davies there in the original.

Just finished the WandaVision rewatch. Still my favorite out of the MCU shows, they got it right at first try... and lost it almost instantly. Back then, this was such a fun watch weekly. It genuinely felt like a movie-level event and a must watch. The storyline outside Westview worked a bit worse for me this time, Agent Woo and Darcy in particular are a waste of time and largely just annoying. Monica is a doll, though. I didn't remember that Kathryn Hahn was this much of a scene stealer, she's just perfect in the show. I'm happy we're heading back to this corner of the MCU, just a couple of days to go.

WandaVision really was quality TV, I remember I rewatched it before MoM and it was better upon second rewatch. I think in retrospect, all of the fan theories from week to week put unfair expectations on the show where it painted it to be something that it wasn't. It was always intended to be a character piece about Wanda and Vision and not some crucial launching point for the Multiverse Saga.

HOWEVER! I dont care what anyone says, I think there was some serious rewriting/refilming going on because you still cannot convince that Monica Rambeau's "aerospace engineer" that they teased for three whole episodes only for it to be some rando military person wasn't intended to be a significant marvel character. Somewhere in production, someone got cold feet and they rewrote that because they were deifnitely telegraphing that person to be important.

Blasphemy my friend.

Two spinoffs I still would love to see are Agents of SWORD (vehicle for Monica, Darcy and Jimmy) and Daughters of the Dragon with Misty and Colleen.

But those have a snowball's chance.

Agreed. Just recently I saw a comment referring to the final episode as "terrible," and I was interested to find out what they meant. Their problem was very much the show not being able to match all the fan theories, Mephisto, etc. People are pretty much doing it again with Agatha, and I think they'll be let down once again. Jac Schaeffer just isn't that kind of creative, and this doesn't seem like that kind of show either.

I'd watch the latter show :o IDK, those two characters just made me think of the reshoots for the first Doctor Strange when they hired an additional writer essentially just to write jokes into the finished script, and that's how we got all the awkward comedic moments that are so clearly tacked on. But to be fair, MCU humor isn't funny to me like 90% of the time, and that's a me problem.
