The Superhero Cinematic Civil War: The SUMC Was In The Amazon With My Mom Studying Spiders Right Before It Died - Part 61

He's a great actor...and something that's cool is that he was born and raised in Lexington, Kentucky....that's the next town over from where I live.
70 miles east down I-64 from me.

But I have to say, in MoS, his “now…I have no people” line is unintentionally hilarious around my household because Michael Shannon’s delivery seems awkward to us. So of course we quote it anytime someone says the word “people.”

Without posting spoilers of course, I am SO conflicted about that Agatha finale.

There was greatness and there was randomness and there were choices made in there. And I feel like we won't get answers or resolutions to certain arcs for about five more years.

Really enjoyed the Agatha finale(s).
I loved that Billy essentially Keyser Sozed the Road out of his own mind without even realizing it. Other twists were predictable but I didn’t see that one coming. Additionally, back before the show premiered, I was worried that they would try too hard to redeem Agatha and make her sympathetic. Well… she is sympathetic to a degree but they really didn’t let her off the hook because she was pretty much a serial killer for hundreds of years, damn. I’m glad they weren’t afraid to just make her truly evil in the end.

I wish we would have gotten a little more Lady Death because we always need more Aubrey Plaza. But I loved her final look.

Anyway, I guess this will pick back up in Vision Quest or somewhere else but regardless, I’m really intrigued to see where we go next with Billy. Great introduction to the character and if the MCU ever does do a Young Avengers, Joe Locke had better have a huge role. Also, good on Marvel for throwing a Trans Lives Matter flag in there!

Sounds like the MCU! :awesome:

I didn’t expect you to like it - ok, I’ll catch up and get this done as my preferences are usually pretty close to ye of solid judgement. The first few episodes really annoyed me lol.

I would say give it another shot. I wasn’t crazy about the whole Mare of Easttown parody thing at the beginning because that show was actually really gritty and good and it felt like they mocked it like a cheesy procedural. But once they get on the Road, the show really comes into its own and the characters begin to emerge.

Happy Halloween, Hypesters!

Slap on your favourite scary movie(s) tonight, pour yourself the bevvy of your choice, enjoy an assortment of your favourite seasonal snacks, and enjoy what's left of Spooky Season 2024!

You'll miss it tomorrow when it's all over, trust me 🎃

Agatha... A show that nobody asked for but that I ended up absolutely loving. It got progressively better, but it was good all the way through. Such a special show, I don't think I've been this invested in a Marvel project since WandaVision. Can't wait to see what comes next from this corner of the MCU. So happy what this special little Halloween show ended up being :hrt:
Well alright, officially diving back in asap. :cwink:

Glad you guys enjoyed it.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed this too, but the egregious plot holes...
Such as...?
I must be blind to plot holes because people say that all the time and I'm like "I don't know what youre talkin about"
As long as something is enjoyable, I can pave over all the plotholes in the world apparently lol

I thought the finale worked really well, and was a great, emotional well-acted ending to what's been an enjoyable story overall

That's just it, the show starts to get good about episode 3

This show really picks up about episode 3. Each episode is better than the last.

For example:

- How did Agatha acquire the Darkhold? We still don't know.
- If Agatha and Death were lovers, why did Death come to claim her son?
- If Billy conjured up the whole Witch's Road, how is that all these other witches knew in depth about the trials and stuff?

Just glaring ones like those (or maybe I should've said unanswered questions) that's bothering me.

- She had centuries, how she acquired the Darkhold wasn't the point of the show, nor is it really all that that important overall
- Death was doing her job... despite her love for Agatha, the boy wasn't meant to live, so she had to do it. Felt that was pretty plain based off of Aubrey Plaza's facial reactions
- They didn't know "in depth". They were constantly asking Agatha questions, and then making assumptions based on what they were being confronted with in the moment. All they knew was what was in the song. They probably had some ideas based off of decades listening to it and interpreting it.

My main question right now is:
Who is Nicholas's daddy?? We know what New Rockstars will say... lol

I’m dumb enough to not pick up on plot holes, helps with enjoying stuff though. :funny:

It always annoyed me that they made a huge show of giving him the grappling hook in Season 2, proceeded to have him use it exactly once, and then got rid of it for the entirety of the final season (I know it fit the back to basics approach of season 3, but still).
