I mean, it is one of those popular ideas from the Asgardian Wars crossover in the 80s. Hell, one of the issues of What If I have is What If The X-men Had Stayed in Asgard.

Just like with so many things lately, I feel like Marvel dropped the ball on the potential of the What If? concept. “What If?” could have told cool, interesting alternate universe stories likes, i dunno, “What if Cap snapped Thanos instead of Tony?” “What if The Avengers failed during the Battle of New York?” “What if Spiderman was recruited by Cap instead of Tony?” “What if Loki was worthy instead of Thor?” “ What if Clint died instead of Natasha?”

Instead we get totally random stuff like “what if Happy Hogan Saved Christmas?” and “ what if Iron Man Crashed into the Grand Master?” Who cares about that? They could choose so much more interesting and compelling alternate takes on the mcu’s history IMO.

At least Happy Saving Christmas took it whacky and more interesting directions. It just wasn't essentially the same idea buy abridged to 25 mins and slightly different. Which is what most of the show is
