The Superhero Cinematic Civil War: The SUMC Was In The Amazon With My Mom Studying Spiders Right Before It Died - Part 61

Hater!

Nah but really, I LOVED what both Emmas did in that movie. Just good old fashioned fun IMO.
I enjoy Stone in that movie. She's why I like the movie. I just don't think it's a movie. The soundtrack feels like compensation. And the way they shoehorn in the original story kills me every time. But Mark Strong is his usual fun shelf.

Good old fashion fun to me is watching I Saw the TV Glow and then crying myself to sleep. Why, yes I am extremely depressed. Why do you ask?

Come here Darth, do you need a hug?

No matter what, it can't rain all the time.

And you reminded me that I still have to watch that I Saw the TV Glow movie too. Everyone talks about how good it was.

@Kane52630 will probably disagree, but I think Late Night With The Devil was the best horror this year. The crazy ass third act notwithstanding. :o

I LOVED Late Night with the Devil but this year is a strong year for horror and I got some other horror films that I put over Late Night:

The Substance
The First Omen
Smile 2
Heretic
It’s What’s Inside (if you count it as horror)

There's also a French zombie horror film called MadS that is all done in "one shot" that was so awesome and wild.

I rather enjoyed Late Night with the Devil. My biggest issue with it, BS AI aside, was that I wish it was a little longer, with a little more crowd interaction.

My top 5 horror flicks this year would be:

1. I Saw the TV Glow
2. The Substance
3. Oddity
4. Cuckoo
5. It's What's Inside

Zoomer horror is still horror.

Patiently waiting for Heretic at home. It's been a crazy good year for horror.

You can make your own horror flick, but the budget only allows you enough for either one of these ladies in the starring role:

Who do you select?

The mention of the 2017 Oscars Best Actress race, had me wondering why I didn't think Frances or Margot should win. So I had to look it up, and I will die on the hill that this scene should've won them both Best Actress, and Best Supporting:

Laurie Metcalf's Oscar is LONG overdue.

Mia is cool but it's Naomi.

She basically gave the Pearl performance this year between Smile 2 & Maxxxine.

I'd renounce my True Believer ways if they cast her as Zatanna in the near future.

Whew!

What's funny is I can see Margaret Qualley in Ready or Not and I can see Samara Weaving in The Substance.
100%. I think both are super versatile and always bring it. Was really surprised by Azrael though I guess I shouldn't of been.

Back on topic, I think we all know that the #1 horror flick of 2026 will be watching whatever accent RDJ comes up with for Doom. :o

Yeah I saw it, I enjoyed it at the time but it wasn't necessarily a traditional biopic on Mr. Rogers and Tom Hanks isn't in it as much as you think.

The doc on Mister Rogers was way better. (I think it's still on netflix)

The documentary is amazing. I love. And I always see red when they hit on Fox News bit there at the end.

I haven't seen much of the big horror this year, but my tastes are such that Under Paris and Lowlifes (Tubi Original) are going to be faves this year.

I just finished watching Deadpool & Wolverine for the second time ever (thanks Disney+) and it is still a ball of brainless fun, IMO.

However, I’m watching the Assembled doc about the movie and EVERY time Shawn Levy talks, I’m just like:

There’s something very fake about him that I don’t like.

Just watched the documentary, and I totally agree with this! If they do another Deadpool, I think Reynolds would most likely want to work with him again, unfortunately.

Also watched the film with my roommate, and surprisingly she enjoyed it a lot, laughed out loud at various parts, especially Short King Wolverine!

I also still enjoy it, but the first is my favourite, and I wish Tim Miller had done DP 2.
