The Superhero Cinematic Civil War: The SUMC Was In The Amazon With My Mom Studying Spiders Right Before It Died - Part 61

Few things in life will ever be funnier to me than the video of the Wicked performance in the UK after the Queen died, opening with a solemn intro about her passing and then bam "GOOD NEWS! SHE'S DEAD!"
The reason why I settled on posting a GIF instead of a YouTube video is because the only one I could find of just that specfic part of the song was the one with the pre-show announcement that the Queen died. :funny:

If I was Sony, I would try to get a deal with Marvel Studios where we partner for 1 Spider-Man movie or Spider-Man character we have the license per year. That way the characters in my hypothetical Sonyverse can cross with the MCU and Spider-Man can make actual cameos in these things and make them legitimate to the audience. Maybe you build to a Sinister Six movie THIS way. Where Spider-Man can ACTUALLY be in it!

Yes, I get that means doing a 75/25 split probably like they are on Spider-Man solos. But if we can actually have Spider-Man or Daredevil or whoever interacting with these characters, then I think 75 percent of a modest success is better than 100% losses on a flop like Madame Web or Morbius or Kraven. That and my new characters like Spider-Woman can be in the Avengers also.

That's what Sony SHOULD do. But barring them doing that, they need to pick a Spider-Man like character they can use and make them the center of their universe.

They need to do this and go a little bit more into the animation side of things, or just go all in on animation, because that seems to be their bread and butter and where they thrive the most. If the latter, partner with multiple animation companies so the animators aren’t crunching and rushing themselves to death. And let the creators/filmmaker/show runners/etc. have full creative control without interfering.

While on that note, use this to find some way to work out the copyright mess with Disney over Spectacular Spider-Man so Greg Weisman can finally complete his vision of all of the plans he had for multiple more seasons and movies. Make some sort of deal to lend Sony animation rights to Spider-Man and associated characters for a period. Hell, give Weisman carte blanche to go as far and as long as he wants if he has the right ideas and story. Just give us something!

I just really want to see Greg Weisman finally finish what he started back in 2008 and was tragically cut short in 2009 so we can finally have some closure. Let this Peter Parker have a happy ending. The games, the currently ongoing Ultimate series, the MCU and the Spider-Verse films (that short cameo in ATSV doesn’t count) gave it to him, SSM sure as hell deserves it. The mainline 616 comic series sure as hell isn’t going to give it to him, I can tell you that.

You get a role, you get a role, you get a role, and so on.

No surprise there. I think Doomsday will be his 7th MCU movie and he hasn't even done Doctor Strange 3 yet. He's approaching Downey and Evans numbers. Wouldn't be surprised he signed a new contract after Multiverse of Madness for a higher paycheck if he originally signed a 6-movie deal.

Well, tacking went up from 15m!
Tracking for a lot of things lately has been on the over end. So I am predicting an under $20 mil opening. I can easily see lower teens, maybe barely squeeks by $10. There is no hype for this

So, this just says to me that they are making Spidey movies into Venom movies.

Even a $15 million opening seems really high for this. I want to know who's gonna go to the movies this weekend and actually go through the thought process of choosing what to watch between Wicked, Gladiator II, Moana 2, Anora, War of the Rohirrim, Y2K, even reissues of Interstellar, Elf and Jim Carrey's The Grinch (at least at my AMC) and saying, "Nah to all that. One ticket to Kraven, please!"

That'll be me on Saturday. Maybe. We'll see. Probably not.

Those who are craven a Kraven, that's who!
