The Superhero Cinematic Civil War: The SUMC Was In The Amazon With My Mom Studying Spiders Right Before It Died - Part 61

ATJ can’t seem to catch a break when it comes to comic book movies with Quicksilver dying and Kraven!

Stay away!

I’m loving all the bad reviews for Kraven!

Feel bad that we definitely won’t see him fight Spider-Man for a long time, though!
Did Sony just do these villain movies just to keep the rights to them?

True.

Also pisses me off that we were deprived of a Chadwick Black Panther/Kraven clash but we get this mess instead.
To be fair, that was intended for Black Panther 1, and in the end I think that movie turned out just fine as is.

If I recall correctly, Hellboy: The Crooked Man came out too. That didn’t look great from the trailers.

And there's the Crisis on Infinite Earth animated trilogy and the Watchmen animated two-parter.

Is this the worst year for comic book movies since 1997?

Madame Web
Deadpool & Wolverine
The Crow
Joker: Folie a Deux
Venom: The Last Dance
Kraven The Hunter
If the movie Batman and Robin were a sentient being, this would be its reaction reading your post:

I totally forgot that I watched Watchmen: Chapter 1 on Max a few weeks back. Nothing special, really. It really just comes off as an enhanced motion comic. I was also surprised that both parts combined amount to a shorter runtime than the Ultimate Cut of the live action movie, which is my preferred adaptation overall.

That said, they all pale in comparison to the HBO series.

Just for sheer number, yes. I mean 2004 & 2005 had some stinkers amongst Spider-Man 2 & Batman Begins.

Remember when Sony's claim to fame waa Spider-Man and Spider-Man 2? Heck, even Spider-Man 3 is so much better than the garbage they make now.

Tom Rothman is a hack

Don’t worry people Sony and Arad’s got a new cinematic universe to handle. 😨 (Arad also produced the Borderlands movie.) I like Wes Ball but the people around him on this gives me pause.

Nintendo making a big mistake with this... But they did the same with Illumination doing Super Mario. You know where it could have made a billion and also be good.

Nintendo is happy with how Mario turned out. It made tons of money. They're fine with it. But given how Sony's blockbuster output has been, Zelda is a lot more doomed
