The Superhero Cinematic Civil War: The SUMC Was In The Amazon With My Mom Studying Spiders Right Before It Died - Part 61

The Mount Rushmore of Bat actors is: Bale, West, Keaton, and Pattinson. Bale is #1 for me, but everyone else is really close. Batman and Bruce Wayne are very multi-factored and different portrayals can place different emphases on the character. He’s a detective, he’s a pugilist, he’s a loner, he creates a family out of those who have no one else. He’s tough and abrasive, he’s supremely loyal and would give his life for his family.

Bruce Wayne/ Batman is an extremely complicated character, and the different emphases that different actors place on the character make it hard to define a clear #1.

The only leg up I'll give Pattinson over Bale is that his and Zoe's Bruce/Selina chemistry was off the charts. Like you felt the passion between them. But that's the only main component that I'd give him the edge.

I need some more movies to properly compare, but Bale and his dynamics with Alfred, Gordon, Robin John and Joker are just unparalleled IMO.

His crazy Bats voice be damned. :o
It helps that Nolan's idea of romance is reciting philosophy naked and climaxing to their quotes. :hehe:

I really did not expect Al Ewing to use the greatest spider-villain of all time in his All New Venom book. Paul.

On the plus side, he applies the appropriate contempt towards him.

Technically, are you really recasting a character if he's the son of the previous character with the same name?
Yeah agreed, this method is not technically a recast. It’s an effective tangential solution doing something almost equivalent to what those looking for a recast wanted. ie the son would probably not even be part of the plot of BP2 if Chadwick were still around. Works fine for me if they find a multiversal way to age him up to the age he can take on the Black Panther mantle.

It just occured to me that even though we've been in a lull in the cbm world for a while its going to kick into SERIOUS overdrive this summer, and not just because of the movies coming out, but because casting and filming for Doomsday, Secret Wars, Spider-man 4, Supergirl, Lanterns and more will be in full effect and we'll probably be overwhelmed with stuff to talk about for a long time following that. We're in the calm before a big big storm ahead.

DeWanda Wise was born to be Storm, i just fear she's too "old" for what they're going for. I feel like theyre going to aim for a 20-something xmen team.
I fear the same.

I have said this before, but I think it's so weird when I see fans talking about 30y olds like they're too old for the X-Men. 30 is still super young, and people are looking younger and younger now.

DeWanda is now 40, and if you ask me, I think that's totally fine for Ororo. And the character doesn't have to be the same age as the actor, btw.

I think the X-Men should have different generations, but some of the main members like Storm, Cyclops and Jean should be a bit mature.

30 is perfect because is young while having some maturity.

So I finally binged Creature Commandos yesterday and while its no The Penguin, Harley Quinn or Peacemaker I did enjoy it for the most part and would watch another season.

It was honestly better than I was expecting it to be after hearing so many mixed reactions.

I am hoping Gunn hits a lot harder with Superman though because that needs to be great.

Thanks for the reminder, I totally forgot that the finale dropped yesterday.

I kind of hope they cast an unknown actress for Ororo.

But I trust the casting either way.
What about this Ariana DeBose girl. She hasn't been in anything worth while. :o
