Blue Beetle’s problem was that it looked far too generic, not that people didn’t know the character.* Make a movie that looks unique and special and people will check it out, whether they’re familiar with the character beforehand or not.

*I enjoyed Blue Beetle for the record. But it was very by-the-numbers, which is exactly what the trailers looked like.

100% true. But I would be more sympathetic if say, he made an amazing movie based on like Gnort but it flopped. At least then he would have done his part in making a good movie. But with the Flash, you had a like top 5 DC character. This was a heavy hitter, and it failed. I cannot muster sympathy
