The Marvels. I don't disbelieve the numbers, but someone did the creative accounting to put the blame on DaCosta, especially with them floating around before release. I don't remember Ant Man 3 having those numbers floated before release.

The budgets we see are pr marketing for investors. With how accounting works, especially with how Hollywood accounting works, putting that high a number on a movie before release is setting someone up for failure.

Nia kind of hurt herself by being all "its not my movie its Kevin Feige's movie" before the release of the movie. Felt like she knew what the reaction of the movie was going to be and was distancing herself.

That movie was so obviously chopped to hell in an attempt to fit the Marvel template and remove any sort of depth to the villain (the parallels are obvious) I get why she would do that. I also think that every good aspect of that movie comes from the director and 4 lead actors who are why I love it even with all the issues.

Why do you think the movie she delivered to them was necessarily this great and perfect all time classic? For all we know her directors cut was a clunker that didn't work and they were trying to save it with their edits (not that they succeeded). Unless we can get our hands on her original cut, we will never know.
