Dumbed down.Dumbed down... or just different?

And then if they just gave us the Netflix Daredevil show you'd complain that they didn't give us anything new and it was just the old show regurgitated.Dumbed down.
They could’ve won if they’d hired the Netflix creative team, instead of trying to cut them out of even getting credit/residuals. Pretty easy win scenario to me.And then if they just gave us the Netflix Daredevil show you'd complain that they didn't give us anything new and it was just the old show regurgitated.
So it seems the showrunner and Marvel are in a no win situation.

I totally agree but my understanding from the reports and THR article is that it before the whole show got reworked was that it swang too much into that direction. The long dialogue scenes in Daredevil were some of the best moments of the show, especially between Matt and the priest. Those are the kind of dialogue scenes where you hang on every word.

The Netflix show CONTINUED actually, which is what I wanted, since it was canceled so abruptly and they were well into writing S4. Their S4 is what I was interested in.Which would've given us the Netflix show regurgitated... which wouldn't give us anything new or fresh.
And then people would still complain that it wasn't as good as what we got before.
Oh god that gif is giving me PTSD. I died that way so many times in that game.So let me get this straight, he can breathe in space but he can't hold his breath underwater?

Hiring an all new creative team to “retool” what was already the best superhero show in town is an absolutely terrible idea imo, and this interview has just reaffirmed that opinion for me.![]()

Steven DeKnight made it pretty clear Marvel was never interested in reaching out to anyone who worked on the original for pay/credit reasons. When this was being made, wasn't the season 3 team working on Carnival Row? I didn't need their exact season 4 they had planned. Just continue telling exciting stories in the universe the first 3 season laid the groundwork for. We had different show runners each Daredevil season, so having a new voice in charge isn't exactly the problem. Now, Marvel Studios starting the show with no show runner at all was stupid. But I am not getting bent up on interviews and such. In the end, the show will speak for itself. I will have more to say once I have some content to judge.
I get that, but like I said I don't think that's necessarily a deal breaker as each season of the OG show had different show runners (DeKnight S1, Petrie & Ramirez S2, and Oleson S3), so you could have got another solid show runner on this as well. Didn't have to be the exact season 3 team.Steven DeKnight made it pretty clear Marvel was never interested in reaching out to anyone who worked on the original for pay/credit reasons.
And I aint defending their original vision for the show not being connected at all and with no showrunner. Those were idiotic choices.Didn't have to have the exact team, no. But the initial decision to not bring back Woll and Henson over practically everyone else was a death blow to my interest in the show.
I didn’t need the exact team but at least a few people for consistency’s sake. All 3 seasons shared writers, even with different showrunners. If Marvel had showed ANY interest in that consistency it would have generated some goodwill with me, but they so obviously weren’t, hence my skepticism. Everything about this project and their approach feels cynical as hell.I get that, but like I said I don't think that's necessarily a deal breaker as each season of the OG show had different show runners (DeKnight S1, Petrie & Ramirez S2, and Oleson S3), so you could have got another solid show runner on this as well. Marvel's choices at the beginning and how they were bringing Cox and D'Onofrio I aint defending. The decision may be cynical on the course correct, but if we get a better show as a result, I am okay with it. This season likely will have some Frankenstein elements to it. But moving forward I am hopeful future seasons will get the proper lead time like a show should have. Maybe that doesn't give us a great S1 of Born Again, but maybe that will help Born Again S2 and beyond be better shows. That's at least my hope. I get the skepticism and don't blame yall.
