The Superhero Cinematic Civil War: The SUMC Was In The Amazon With My Mom Studying Spiders Right Before It Died - Part 61

Just watched the trailer for Thunderbolts. Movie looks fun

I’m still shocked Superman didn’t get a Super Bowl trailer either. WTF?
The real Big Game got precedence.

I don't know if I'm in the minority but I actually enjoyed that new Thunderbolts trailer alot more than the first one although my expectations for it are still on the conservative side.

I just hope they are able to balance the gritty action with all the wise cracking/quirky humor. It definitely looks like the cast is having a lot of fun in though so I think the chemistry will be there.

I'm also a little surprised we didn't get a new FF tv spot but I already feel like Disney/Marvel has more than enough confidence in it and judging by the trailer views the hype is already there.

Hopefully this ends up being a strong comeback year for all the MCU movies.

I'm not. WB is famously stingy with buying SB ads. Even more so now that they're strapped for cash. A lot of execs think they're not worth the money, and welp, the last big one they did was The Flash. We all know how that turned out.

Pretty insane how X is essentially hyping up the Thunderbolts trailer, which looks...okay? But are overly critical over anything that comes out for Superman.

For me, I think part of what I’m chaffing against is the same thing i chaffed against with the Suicide Squad movies: what are these low tier assassins with barely any abilities doing going against these God level super powered threats? Why cant this just be a cool espionage thriller where these people’s brand of talents can be properly utilized?

I dunno, maybe thats the entire point that these people are way out of their league and have no business fighting a Superman. But wouldnt a cooler premise have been, oh i dunno, “there’s a mysterious sovereign nation that we need you to infiltrate that’s being led by a powerful dictator that we suspect has been behind some recent events such as the assassination attempt that Sam Wilson handled last month. We need you to assemble a team of people with nothing to lose and are expendable to infiltrate this nation and find out who this dictator is and what he’s planning.”

Yeah, that's definitely kind of the point
You have 3 Super Soldiers, a Black Widow, and one superpowered phasing character taking on Crazy Superman, the drama is in how they could possibly handle that

From what we've been told previously, the Winter Soldier could do that mission you laid out all on his own

But I hear where you're coming from, would be fun to have more of a Mission Impossible 1 type scenario with some superpowers thrown in

That's cause of the Snyder Bros
If Superman doesn't gross a billion, they'll call it a failure and campaign for Gunn to give the reigns back to Snyder... Even though Man of Steel didn't even make 700 million and BvS didn't hit a billion with 3 major superheroes.

I'm still surprised that they didn't at least include the Abomination. I was convinced he was going to have role after his surprise cameo in Shang-Chi.

Maybe by the end of the film, if they do end up being the Dark Avengers
I could see it being US Agent (Cap), White Widow (Black Widow), Ghost (Hawkeye (she has a Bow and Arrow in the trailer!)), Songbird (Iron Man, I guess, because she flies and has blasts), Abomination (Hulk), and maybe Sentry in the Thor role

Idk, probably wishful thinking, but who knows where this one'll end up
