Meanwhile in romcom town:

I will never understand the love for these films.

I would say they don’t want to be associated with this movie because it’s not very good and they’re ashamed of it, but all of the ads that I’ve seen have the logo, so I don’t know. Maybe it is just as simple as them just wanting to do something different and have it be taken more seriously. Or, here’s a thought, they’re using this film as an experiment to see if they can get away with not having the opening fanfare in front of every film and series and just show the logo in trailers and commercials to see if people are intrigued and drawn to each film just based on what it is. If your brand is recognizable enough, you don’t need to constantly advertise it all of the time.

Knowing how tight-lipped they have to be about things, we probably won’t find out decades later until whatever book is written about the fall of the MCU and what happened behind-the-scenes.

Eh....ultimately it's a minor issue and I have to see the movie for myself before rushing to why the opening intro is different

I did a little googling and Tulsi’s had that white streak in her hair since around at least 2023, before they started filming, and it’s way too specific of a design choice to not be intentional.

Also, purely by happenstance, Val is the head of the CIA and Tulsi is the Director of National Intelligence, very similar roles, which I’m sure they didn’t intend because they wouldn’t have known when they made the film, and is just kind of a funny case of art sort of imitating life and then real life events unintentionally creating direct parallels.

Could also be a case of history constantly repeating itself, and the filmmakers being smart enough to recognize that and make an educated guess on where our country was headed.

In BETTER Marvel news. Im in utter disbelief how good this Friendly Neighborhood show is. It doesnt seem to be generating any social media buzz but this is by FAR Marvel’s best Spiderman effort since Spectacular. It gets better with each episode.

To be fair, if that score holds that makes this one the most acclaimed of the bunch. Generally speaking, people only seemed to really like the first one and kinda tolerated the other two.

I’m a Jane Austen fan so I enjoyed the first quite a bit.

Nah. Let's panic when Avengers or Spider-Man though.

I'm always cheering for a Spidey movie to be great, he's my favorite character of all-time, but admittedly I would be kinda amused if the MCU started putting out poorly received Spider-Man movies. They'd lose leverage with Sony and that'll probably lead to another dramatic break-up & custody battle that would entertain me lol.

I wonder how they're feeling about that decision now that Mad About the Boy is projected to have a huge opening in most areas where it's a theatrical release. Cap opened two days ahead, and Bridget is still kicking his ass over here. Wild.

And that's on top of romcoms being box office successes with Anyone But You and It Ends with Us

Also Bridget Jones is practically IP at this point.
