The Superhero Cinematic Civil War: The SUMC Was In The Amazon With My Mom Studying Spiders Right Before It Died - Part 61

In BETTER Marvel news. Im in utter disbelief how good this Friendly Neighborhood show is. It doesnt seem to be generating any social media buzz but this is by FAR Marvel’s best Spiderman effort since Spectacular. It gets better with each episode.

Bruh... I'm 7 episodes into Friendly Neighborhood, and I get why social media isn't talking about it.

This show has some good ideas, it's admirable, but I'm sorry, it puts the MID in Midtown High. It's a good show about Tombstone and Norman Osborn and the supporting cast, but Peter is literally second fiddle in it. There is hardly any kind of character development for him.

And just another thing to any Marvel execs who may be lurking, can you PLEASE in the near future just keep things simple and give us a Spidey project where Peter is solo, doesn't have anything or anyone but the memory of Uncle Ben's murder to guide him in crime fighting, and just being his OWN hero with a supporting cast of like Gwen, MJ, JJ and Robbie and call it a day?

Honestly didn’t even notice the lack of logo in the beginning and that’s probably the least of the movie’s problems.
Wait, the logo isn't even in there at all? It doesn't even just have a quick "Marvel Studios" card either? Strange.

Anyway, as it turns out I'll be seeing Cap 4 tonight since my schedule cleared up after work. It's more of a "let's get this out of the way" feeling than "I need to see this ASAP!" one. :o

Ok. Noted.

Oops.

I love the show, and it probably helps that I'm not overexposed to high school/teenage Peter, but I can understand the criticisms against it.

Still, with all the gossip/rumors of MCU Spider-Man 4 flipflopping between being either a street level or a multiversal story, and after having 3 multiversal Spider-Man movies, I'm just glad we have a street level story going on elsewhere for at least 2 more seasons to flesh out this Spider-Man's corner.

Here’s to not flipping them off by the end credits :o

Got my tickets for tomorrow! A great valentines gift for the lady. Here’s hoping!

It just seemed like Marvel didn't put a lot of thought into Sam actually being Captain America beyond "it will be really emotional to see Steve hand him the shield at the end of Endgame". They never figured out anything else beyond that.

It doesn't help that I think the Sam Wilson character, and Anthony Mackie himself, are just better as supporting actors/characters than they are as leads. IMO.

It just reminds me of when pro wrestling would try to take a really good mid-card or upper-card babyface and try to elevate them to main event status, and almost try too hard to prop them up to that level, but the audience doesn't buy it and it just ends badly.
Anthony Mackie is the most entertaining when he is playing character most like himself. Twisted Metal is fun because Mackie gets to be his wise cracking self.

I’m watching John Rocha’s show and he’s talking about Cap 4 and he said something very sobering that made me realize that this is where we are at with superhero cinema. He said, “this movie just needs to be good enough to get us to the next film.” Thats where we’re at, people, just be passable and mediocre enough so we can get to the next thing.
Sounds like another mid marvel content project. Not sure if they are overthinking this stuff or doubting themselves or hiring the wrong people to make this stuff.

I honestly don't understand how Marvel keep messing up so badly with some of these projects. It really isn't that complex.

Have characters the audience can connect with, an engaging villain, a compelling story and some memorable action setpeices for spectacle.

Pretty sure the Sony agreement requires MCU costars

Please, I didn't even do that for Quantumania. You know why? Because it wasn't directed by Todd Phillips. :o

That visual of you at the end of Folie A Deux will never not be funny.

I’m tempted about taking an edible before I go see this movie tomorrow in imax 3D, but my clumsy, jumpy ass would end up breaking my neck LMAO.

I'm more surprised he isn't some from of prejudice.
Cap in his own and Avengers comments, seems for the most part to be the moral beacon of the team. But as soon as he's added to the X-Men comics, it's like, okay, now let's have him have issues with mutants.

The movie was super basic, BTW. The main thing that stuck with me was that they decided to say "Israeli" out right when describing Captain Israel. Also, the end credit scene is like something out of a Sony Marvel movie. Stinky.

How many post credits scenes are there?

I don’t know wow but the fact that his first reaction was, “I don’t wish anybody be a part of a bomb” is pretty funny to me. :funny:

Are you into Jane Austin or Pride & Prejudice?
I liked my Mr. Darcy when he was young and in period costume, sir. I hate Renee Zelweger in these films is another reason.

Again, it becomes really, really hard to have any character be portrayed as a friends of mutants once mutant extinction becomes a recurring theme.

There was no need to say the first part out loud, dude. :weeping:

I'm certain the question was asked in a way to get that answer.
