The Superhero Cinematic Civil War: The SUMC Was In The Amazon With My Mom Studying Spiders Right Before It Died - Part 61

Those hoping She-Hulk popping up in the films are gonna be disappointed. :o

Not being that hyped myself, not being a fan of legacy or derivative heroes, and seeing the negative reviews put me in a situation where I was pleasantly surprised by Cap 4. It was entertaining and a pleasant enough time in the theater. Despite my aversion to those kind of heroes Mackey does work for me and they are properly separating him from the legacy of Steve.

It won't be one I revisit a lot but it was enough for last night.

I’m out of the loop but plan to see Cap on Sat. Just saw the RT, damn. That era of bulletproof reviews for the MCU is well and truly over. Also some reactions by usually enthusiastic Hypesters doesn’t bode well. Oh well, will go in as foolishly optimistic as usual and get what I can out of it. It will be only my second cinema trip in about 16 months so will enjoy that tradition at least.

Stans won't let him retire and do age appropriate projects. He's too old to be Han and Indy forever.

Eh, the stans don't seem to mind that Han's been dead for the last 10 years. Also, the last Indy film underperformed at the BO. If anything, I bet most stans wish he just left it at "Last Crusade" in regards to Indy.

Again, take it with some salt.

Those who watched The Substance know she has the bakery.

Clayface and Sgt Rock we don’t need. I dont think we really need a supergirl movie but it’s a weird choice of movies that I don’t think will capitalize on Superman’s eventual success. A Justice Society, Green Lantern(movie not tv show) should have followed

More power to you I suppose, but I do feel that can set an ugly precedent. We don’t need any of these films. It isn’t there job to give us what we need. If you have scripts you believe in and creative people who wanna make them, sitting on them will get no one anywhere.

Supergirl is also in Superman and I have a strong feeling it’ll be a vice versa situation come next June. GL as a HBO show in the same vain as TLoU or GoT also has massive potential. Can’t agree there either.

Very interested in, Clayface & Supergirl.

Much like with Eternals and The Marvels, the audience score for Cap 4 seems to be more forgiving than the critics. Curious to see where the Cinemascore lands.

Cap 4 is a movie where scenes are put next to each other with no discernible connection or cohesion. Just things happening.

The ‘let’s fix it in post if ever’ attitude.

Lighting is also a lost art.

I’ve also brought this up also before when it comes to modern anime minimizing or eschewing shadows compared to old anime.

Marvel just likes to scrimp on good DPs and saying “no you can’t shoot on film anymore because it’s ‘more expensive.’” The overly digital look in a lot of the new MCU films is 😑— I wouldn’t mind it so much if they focused on better scripts.

He basically wants to make it on his own without enhancements to prove himself.
Admirable... But that shield won't save him all the time. Steve was only able to fight Thanos etc. due to it
