The Superhero Cinematic Civil War Thread* - Part 61

But is that gonna force them to lean more into THAT X-Men as opposed to a new one? I still think Hugh is just Wolverine now

Ugh...

I go back and forth about it, but man I really don't see soon to be 60 year old Hugh Jackman staying shredded this next decade, hanging out with twentysomething actors in the MCU X-Men. That's a tall order for the guy.

It made too much money. They will CG those muscles and keep writing him huge checks to keep him around

I'm egging & TP'ing all of Kevin Feige's mansions.

Personally, I think we are going to see what Lucasfilm Animation is cooking. Definitely revealed at Celebration, and I think we can get it this year.

Listen, an X-Men spinoff gave them a billion dollar W last year, they know where their bread is buttered :o

Yeah, cameos and cameos.

Yeah, cameos and cameos.
Cameos and, Nostalgia.
I mean,Electra and,Wesley Snipes,Blade?
That was nostalgia all right.

Is Marvel still serious about that "an Avengers team has to be lead by Captain America" talk? Because the audience doesn't really seem to care much about this guy as Captain America. On the villain side for Doomsday and Secret Wars, we got RDJ playing Doctor Doom, and on the hero side, we got Sam Wilson leading the charge? This is like Heel John Cena going up against Damian Priest in the main event of WrestleMania.

Would be a serious success if they could simply get their budgets under control. Captain America should be one of the cheapest superhero films to produce. Embarrassing to blow that much money on it. (The actual budget is absolutely way higher after they reshot the whole movie like 3 times)

I feel fairly confident that that $180 million dollar number is a lie for PR and investors. Probably tossed the remainder of its budget back onto The Marvels for extra **** you to Dacosta.

I think it's gg for us, gang. This sounds absolutely horrible. I was holding out hope that it would be mostly disconnected from Tony Stark -- like a 'What if the armour Tony built in the cave was used for evil?" type idea. But relating it to Tony's sacrifice will just diminish his loss in his final appearance.

Sad that the former is the one who Disney prefers.
Not that you’re wrong, but Tony Gilroy has said that Andor was always going to be a one-and-done thing. He never had any intention of staying around to shepherd and oversee projects, and he’s not being let go because of creative differences. In fact, podcasts I’ve listened to where he talks about the show says that Disney was very hands off and didn’t really have any direct input into the show or have to change anything, except requesting “F**k the Empire!” to “Fight the Empire!”, and it’s one of the very rare cases where I think the right call was made.
The Russo hacks will talk about anything but their latest dud of a film
I’m pretty down on them as well, but that’s just blatantly untrue. That’s literally all they’ve been talking about in all of the interviews that have been released concerning the film in the past week. And the screen cap of that quote from Joe Russo is from some months ago.

Decided to turn on The Electric State just now and give it a shot and already 10 mins in, I can see why this is getting panned. The concept of this movie has already lost me.

I agree. I do love the line but I also think that dropping an f-bomb in Star Wars is a little much.
