The Superhero Cinematic Civil War Thread* - Part 61

Imagine seeing this very talented and respected man out in the streets campaigning to be Professor Charles Xavier, and what do they do?

Cast him as a character NO ONE remembers in a BOTCHED Cap movie.

Beam me up Scotty. :o
At least they didn't force him to wear a ridiculous Cobra head piece?

It made too much money. They will CG those muscles and keep writing him huge checks to keep him around
At the same time Hugh hasn’t made huge money in the solo films or most of the X-Men films he’s led (despite being great) after many chances. Deadpool didn’t need external guest characters or an X-Men team to outperform most of them in the first 2 solos.

I kind of consider Wolverine to be the top notch guest star in Deadpool’s film. I don’t know that they would green light Wolverine and *different character* on the back of it and expect anything like the same numbers.

And if X-Men does explode, there will be a natural limit on how long Hugh can hang around for trilogies and wider MCU appearances as the main Wolverine.

Marvel have made far dumber decisions like RDJ Doom so there’s every chance they’ll do this, but I’d rather have him around as the multiversal Wolverine and have a new young Wolverine who can grow with the rest of the new cast. I can’t see X-Men breaking out too significantly from the Fox past if they keep actors in crucial lead roles (cameos and supports fine though and can add something).

Its like I've said... Sam Wilson just doesn't have main character energy and can't carry a movie on his own.

I agree, i love Mackie but he’s not quite Wesley Snipes or Michael B Jordan or even Aaron Pierre. Those guys all have a magnetic gravitas that Mackie just doenst have I think.

Either Bucky gets the shield or Multiverse reboot with a new Steve.

Yeah, hard pass. But go ahead marvel, try to redeem your symbol of hate, that only makes it more popular as a symbol of hate.

Bucky would be an equally subpar Cap.

Stan at least has the acting talent to hold a leading role. Mackie really, really needs a suitable co star. And it ain't Danny Ramirez.

Stan might, but as his MCU character? Absolutely not. Bucky could barely hold my interest when sharing the screen with Steve Rogers, tbh. A lead he is definitely not.

I get why they're doing it weekly, but to hell with that noise, I need ALL the Born Again episodes.

Just GIVE IT TO US.

This last episode was so good. Cox and Bernthal together still have that intensity, Fisk still has his edge keeping his wife's sidepiece captive, and the black dude Matt represented bringing up Skrulls was HILARIOUS.

And it's trending and kicking ass on social media I noticed.
