I still cry.

Narrator: SHE WOULD NOT see you in a minute.

:csad:
I'm still conflicted about her death scene. On the one hand ScarJo and Renner acted their asses off but I'll never fully get used to her death scene being a near copy of Gamora's down to the musical score.

Nevertheless, if RDJ and Evans are coming back, there's no doubt in my mind that we'll see Scarlett again one more time in Secret Wars. But with how things are going she'll probably be playing Galacta or something. :o

Remembers how Disney tried to screw her out of money on her solo film...

For anyone who hasn't watched it, go watch Director by Night on Disney+. For behind the scenes look at a project, it's way better than any of the Assembled specials that they've done. It gives you a lot of insight about Michael Giacchino and follows the production of Werewolf by Night from start to finish.
This sounds like a must-watch. Thanks for the tip, hadn’t heard about it.

I hadn’t thought about Scarlett returning. I’d be stoked if she did.

I liked the death scene and having it be a personal one between her and Clint. I’m sure she would have kicked ass and been a great add for the final battle though, interacting with a bunch of others.

I feel for people who can’t tolerate spicy food. It’s a staple of my life.

It’s funny though, after years of eating ghost pepper and Carolina reaper sauces and powders in my food, I finally met my match in the form of a sample of three hot sauces that my niece gave me for Christmas this year. Torchbearer’s Zombie Apocalypse, Garlic Reaper, and Son of Zombie sauces:

I love spicy food and I’m a hot sauce connoisseur. I even hold a membership at The Pepper Palace. But this stuff causes me physical pain. I still use it, but there’s a time and a place for it, and a small dab is all that is needed.

I will say that this stuff does give me empathy for people who struggle to tolerate spicy food. It’s diabolical.
Lol, any one of those would send me to the hospital. :p

Well, technically he died so who knows?

Poor, innocent squeeks. To be blessed with ignorance of The Blood of Apocalypse story.

Perhaps one of the worst Apocalypse stories, with a terrible roster of Horsmen. Given how likely he seemed to be pushing for an accurate version, was very happy to see DeMayo gone, that and his treatment of Maddy. (After him being a sex pest, of course)

As for Daredevil, I am happy with just the Netflix seasons. Marvel burned my goodwill with the original production, and really not earned a second chance. If anything, I dread a JJ revival more.

WandaVision for me is the best of the Disney Plus roster, closely followed by Agatha. Loki is really good too. Most of these shows are middle of the road, pleasant enough but nothing special, besides maybe Secret Invasion and She-Hulk that lean on bad. I do remember how freaking exciting that first year of Disney Plus Marvel shows was, but that promise has been seldomly fulfilled, and it's a shame. Besides the MCU fare, X-Men '97 is stellar.

I hear you Darth.

I do miss the street level feel and look of the Netflix version. Born Again has that Disney MCU gloss over it now, but again I think it is succeeding at making it its own thing. You still have the battle of ideologues, there's still unique characters here, it's just there's new characters that people may or may not jive with.

Granted they didn't know the outcome of the election when they were writing this, but it's timely showing Fisk as Mayor of New York. It wasn't necessarily the Snap, but idiots people in this country re-elected a convicted felon after he unleashed a global pandemic on us that wiped too many people out. Makes the MCU citizens voting for another felon believable, after all they went through unfortunately. :o

And why you hating on WandaVision for, that was a love story. :csad:
I think it's very hard to claim something as it's own thing, when it's whole cloth taken from somewhere else. At that point you're dealing with AI "art". Something we know Disney is fine with!

Fisk as mayor isn't my issue. I think that's a fun setup. They are doing nothing with it*, but conceptually it's neat. The idea that he's arguing superheroes are a scourge on society is not.

*He should be running it like Trump, but that would take guts (Disney has none) and someone who understood Wilson from the original show.

Most if not all characters theoretically have an ideology. It's the writing and performance that make it sing. I know mileage may vary, but what new characters compare to old cast of characters? What here is comparing to Matt's ideological battles with Stick, Foggy, Elektra, Karen, or Lantom?

Before Born Again started I watched the original series through again. And how much happened in each and every episode of comparable length to the new show, really emphasizes how little the new show has to say. Episode 4 of s1 was In the Blood. S2, Penny and Dime. S3, Blindsided. So much said, done, in 4 episodes of 13 episode seasons. This show is 9, and refuses to progress. It's great to show cop abuse. To point out how the system ****s POC and low income people. But what is the show actually doing with it? Matt handled the first Punisher arc in 4 episodes and then Elektra showed up. Slow deliberate pacing only works when you can actually write compelling characters and dialogue. And honestly, it is usually a misnomer. Because the top class shows that would be said to have pacing like that, build each and every episode as it's own major event.

My issue with WandaVision is the ending. It was a show that refused to confront Wanda with what she did and instead tried to gaslight the audience into thinking she was the hero. I also find Vision overall boring outside a few episodes.

That was what I found myself thinking after Endgame. I felt bad for Scarlett Johansson not getting to participate in the final battle but at least she was actually in the movie.
Always so weird to me that he wasn't in it at all. Like you'd think they would've given *one* line as JARVIS or something.

Werewolf By Night is the best thing to come out of Disney+, but I very much enjoyed She-Hulk, Loki season 1, and Hawkeye. Daredevil so far has been not meeting the bar, but the returning actors keep pulling me along. Just really struggling with the ones surrounding them feeling super thin, which feels especially stark after watching the third season and original character MVP Agent Nadeem.

I’m also in the Werewolf by Night loving camp. That was absolutely amazing. She Hulk was pretty good. Hawkeye was more fun than it deserved to be and the Guardians Holiday Special was wonderful. Personally, I am LOVING Born Again. The rest of the shows weren’t great. And I know that I’m in the minority, but I detested WandaVision

I agree. There was no plausible way to shoehorn Vision into any of the time traveling scenes but he absolutely could have been a vocal cameo as Jarvis in the 2012 Stark Tower scene. It's not like Bettany is needed in the movie but him not being in it at all felt weird since he was there from the beginning of the MCU.

Maybe a hot take but the Wonder Man and Ironheart shows might be really good.

Chinaka Hodge is pretty talented and we know Destin Daniel Cretton already and I think Andrew Guest is showrunning Wonder Woman.

Ironheart personally got me with the use of that Chaka Khan “Ain’t Nobody” song in its little promo. I’m keeping an open mind for that one.

Besides, how often do we get to see vehicles for black superheroines? :o

I find those scenes boring as well (along with 95% of the show) because they don't feel like the same characters. I am confused by why those scenes or the general tension between the two exist. It get it, distance happened. It did before. It did not lead to this.

You brought up a good point, we havent' SEEN whats driven the rift between these two so theres a natural disconnect between us the viewer and the show. And i think unfortunately thats a victim of the messy planning of what Marvel was wanting to do with Fisk from his appearances in Hawkeye and Echo and now. The plans changed dramatically during that transition (and probably several times) and now even though they want to NOW link it to Netflix, there isnt a seamless transition to where the character was there and where he is now.
