The Superhero Cinematic Civil War Thread* - Part 61

Not that I thought that Bucky, Yelena, Walker or Sentry were going to die in Thunderbolts but given we're only five weeks away from release, maybe it might have made more sense to wait until after that came out to make this announcement.

LOL, don’t forget that Marvel (and Sony) spoiled Tony’s death in the Far From Home trailer for anyone who didn’t see Endgame in like the first two weeks.

I still can’t believe they did that. I’m pretty sure they could have cut a compelling trailer without spoiling the shocker ending of a movie that had just come out.

I said this in the Doomsday thread, but for real, people cant use the “superhero fatigue” thing.

These munchkins got millions of people watching this long, drawn out announcement on a Wednesday during business hours.

That’s insane.

Idk. Throwing the kitchen sink at the audience is kinda playing into the desperation and fatigue of it all. Comic book fans getting excited about the biggest version of comic book **** isn't much of a shift.

Even before that, they literally spoiled that Peter survives the snap by releasing that first Far From Home trailer in December 2018 or whenever it was.

True though I do remember a few people absoultely convinced the movie was going to take place before Infinity War.

Imagine if they have the balls to put a Mahershala Ali chair up there. :o
You know who it's gonna be. :o

The last 30 minutes gave us a character from Thunderbolts we haven't met yet and the new Falcon who probably doesn't have much of a fanbase, so I'm hoping the next name is something more striking. Watch them hit us with something entirely asinine like Happy Hogan instead.

I hear you but dude, they literally have 6 million people right now on a work day tuned into this feed just to have the kitchen sink thrown at them.

That’s a feat.

Ugh... there's still so many underwhelming names to come.

Why are they torturing us? Because we didnt get on board with RDJ as Doom?

Sir Ben Kingsley will be the next name.

Harry Styles, baby!

I'm not surprised Lewis Pullman/Sentry survives, per se
But that he's in good enough graces to be helping out or part of the team seems like a pretty big spoiler

Oh I don't question the allure and execution of the hype. They have people in the palms of their hands.

I take back what i said earlier about firing whoever came up with this idea because even thouggh it absolutely is trolling its working. Marvel just single handedly proved we all have nothing better to do with our lives than watch them put names on a screen for an entire day. Brilliant.

:csad::hehe:

I hope this ends with some kind of "that's all folks" footnote, revealing that RDJ was behind the camera the whole time, instead of making us wait 15 minutes to see his name onscreen. I might actually lose it.
