The Superhero Cinematic Civil War Thread* - Part 61

I know Brie is treated like trash now, but if she doesn't show up, with Monica being over there with the X-Men, with Kamala being the first X-Men inside the MCU, I'm just not gonna go to any of these anymore.
The studio knew she was unpopular with their base, so they made sure she flopped. :para:

My guess with all the incursions going on, the MCU and this X-Men universe (assuming it's the one from the Marvels) are the last 2 standing. They're going at it to see which comes out on top and Doom is in the middle of it all doing stuff.

I still think one of these movies is going to show an incursion in real time: either the FF's alternate universe, or the Foxverse where the X-Men are. Then after Battleworld and all that fun stuff in Secret Wars, there's going to be some kind of soft reboot of Earth 616 with mutants and all that.

Monica's actress also wasn't mentioned I don't think.

At least 3 universes cause the FF are from another universe as well. So, I am seeing 2 possibilites:

We either focus on 3 universes and Doom is from the FF universe. Or we have 4 universes, and Doom's is destroyed in an incursion in the opening.
Im going with the assumption the FF's universe is destroyed by the end of their movie.

Nah, I think that's gonna be the opening of Doomsday

I lowkey love how they are ignoring the existence of FC timeline

I think it might have been pruned. Cassandra Nova did say she met and killed a Charlies Xavier in the void in Deadpool & Wolverine, and she did kill a Magneto in the void according to Blade, so I think both Fassbender and McAvoy were murdered by Cassandra Nova after their timeline got pruned by the TVA (likely by Mr. Paradox).

I dont think it is simply cause it's their first movie, and I don't think you want to job them out like that their first go around. Only way that works is if say, Franklin made a pocket universe and he has to be convinced to undo it. I don't think Galactus winning or an incursion at the end of the movie works. Maybe at the beginning of Doomsday, you do that. Not in their own movie

I get that logic, but still, the FF gotta come into the Sacred Timeline somehow, so how else would you bring them in?

You have Secret Wars to do that. Thay doesn't need to be done in their movie

Think of it this way: you introduce a new wrestler. You want this character to succeed. Does having that wrestler lose their first match make sense, or does handing then a victory over a mid carder make more sense?

If the MCU does 'absorb' some of the other universes into it's own somehow over the course of these films & in turn retains some of the actors portraying some of the roles, the only 2 I'd probably keep McAvoy & in particular Fassbender as Professor X & Magneto.

I think their versions of those characters are dead, along with the Tim Story Fantastic Four.

This just came to me as an idea, but it wouldn't shock me if Doom ends up being from the FF universe, and that universe dies at the beginning of Doomsday, and Doom recruits the FF to his side cause he knew about the incursions across the multiverse and ultimately betrays them. Would be a way to get Reed and Doom a lot of scenes together to build a relationship, and something Doom would def do

I don't mean strictly in the sense that they have to reprise those particular versions, more just keeping them in the roles, a bit like Jackman's alternate Wolverine that's made it in from an unseen universe.

I fully expect my brain to have melted into mush by the time I see these films trying to follow what's happening with all the universes.

I agree with you conceptually. But it's Marvel. I could see them doing it in a similar manner to the Ragnarok credits, and seeing it as the big setup they think will get more people to see the movie. Marvel hasn't always really given consideration to the story of a film over interconnective BS setup.

I think here they kind of have to. Especially cause the FF have 2 failed franchises already, and both Evans and Krasinski both were killed like jobbers in other movies. You need THIS FF to look strong

Holland is an interesting one. Between Odyssey and Spider-Man 4, which seems to be all systems go at the end of the year, I wonder how much he'll actually be on set for his role as Spider-Man in those movies. Wouldn't shock me if they went full Mando for some of it, where he's mostly a VA.

Look, y’all all i know is, they better give my boy Marsden a damn good part in this. Assuming this is the last hurrah for the FoX-Men, I wanna see Cyclops go out like a BOSS. Its time he’s had his due.
