I had to call Howard's group something. I couldn't remember the group's actual name.

First of all to Cats and Eddie, thanks for the noms. It means a lot to know people actually like the stuff you put out.

And here are my OC noms

OOC Awards

Overall MVP (in all catagories): Byrd Man. Byrd is in my opinion not only one of the most diligent posters on the boards, but one of the best as well. Whether it's OU, Star Wars, ASM, FTPO, or one of the multitude of other games, you can bet Byrd will be there, and he'll be kicking ass with whatever character he's playing.

MVP (in Marvel): Andy C. Andy is a force in ASM, and he has to be considering he's currently playing three of Marvel's most recognizable and influential characters. Not only does he make time to post as Captain America, Cyclops, and Spider-man, but his Peter Parker is the best I've read on these boards, and I'm sure he could give any comic writer a run for his money right now.

MVP (in DC): Batman. Honestly, I don't frequent the DC boards too much, mostly because there's only a few DC characters that I really know a lot about, but from what I've read in UDC, Batman takes this award.

MVP (in Misc): Wieg. Honestly, sometimes I feel like he's my partner in crime in the Misc Section. The two of us are basically always involved in every game over there, and without his constant posting, FTPO would have died a lot sooner.

RPG of the Year: One Universe. I love basically every game I play here, but One Universe is consistently my favorite. Something about it harkens back to when you were a kid and you didn't care that the Joker never fought Spider-man when you were playing with your friends. You just wanted to have fun and come up with what would happen.

Best Game Master Award
: Wieg. He's probably the only one out of the lot of us that would take the time to check up on everyone's posting like he does. He deserves the award simply for that.

Breakout Player of the Year: Eddie Brock. I've always enjoyed working with Eddie, but after he returned to the games I participate in after a short absence, I have to say he's one of the best writers here. Dude knows his characters, and never has an off post.

Best Newcomer: sabetoonth. I apologize if you're not a newcomer sabe, but I hadn't worked with you before this year. Anyway, I think your work in ASM is great, and your a welcomed addition to the boards.

Carnage you're a Philly fan too? Alright.

OOC Awards

Overall MVP (in all catagories):

I hate nominating him, though he knows I love him, but it is moreso because seems like everyone is nominating him haha. But, that only means that the nomination is justified. We all try to be in as many games as we can and sometimes we find ourselves spreading ourself far too thin. But Byrd Man is one of the few who goes for so much and ends up being a key member with his dedication. So many times I wish I had it in me to be so forward with new RPGs and ideas.

MVP (in Marvel):

I have not participated in the Marvel games enough to truly justify me nominating anyone for this award. So, N/A for me pertaining to this category.

MVP (in DC):

It is hard being the main drive behind a mid to large scale arc. I have had my hand in some and have been more active than others and almost the main drive before and it puts a strain on you. You worry about if people will/are enjoy/enjoying what you felt you put so much into since they are so actively participating and then stuff like pace of the arc and your own personal pace comes into place. Watchman took a much more active role in the past few Seasons of the DC RPG building up what ended up being his own spin fusion of essential what would happen if Blackest Night and Final Crisis were one and the same with Keyser though there was much more ideas/inspiration from Final Crisis from Watchman's side of the spectrum. Kudos to you, dude. You made a way to utilize an idea that was similar/related to the comics but make it its very own thing.

MVP (in Misc)

This dude mainly has his work in this section. He is so insanely passionate about the Misc. section of the RPGs that it is wrong for him to go overlooked. NiteMare Shape has shown a dedication and passion to the Misc. RPGs that I can so is only rivaled by the MIA Johnny Blaze who also really took to the Misc. section like no other when he still played with us. He has tried to expand to other sections of the RPG and I personally tried to get him to test the waters of DC but this guy just loves the Misc. section like I like Aquaman. It's that intense.

RPG Lifetime Achievement Award:

Gotta say, overall his posts have been kind of out there but not nearly as much as a former poster of these games who went by the name Purple Man. But Watchman and his Morrison-esque writing is something that I feel should be commended. He avoids going for the typical and common even though sometimes he has given me headaches trying to grasp some of his posts haha. And with people like Keyser knowing how much I hate Morrison as of late, you know I am being dead serious when I nominated Watchman for this award who like I said has had a vibe like that that worked better I feel.

RPG of the Year

I feel this RPG is overlooked and it could be because, as someone once pointed out in a joking way "what if someone tries to take my great ideas?". My counter argument to that is that people could take your ideas from any of the other games even though they are with licensed people and make what changes they need to satisfy their desires anyway and you might not realizes or know it. It was the second, I believe, RPG to be created when we first went and said "hey, let's have some RPGs outside of the Marvel and DC ones and OU" so I nominate the Create-A-Hero/Villain RPG. In the past year of 2010 it has made leaps and bounds when so many thought it was going to fail.

Best Game Master Award:

I kissed his ass enough already in one of my awards above, but before I reveal this nominee I want to point out why I feel he deserves it and that his work goes overlook. He GMs an RPG that has been through many capable hands since its first Season. And this RPG was known for its certain slumps and failed attempts at doing stuff like oh...an RPG wide arc that entices all and...say a forming of a certain superhero group? When things got slow and tough, NiteMare Shape took the CAH RPG by its balls and did something about it. He applied as a villain which would be the driving force of a large-scale Alien Invasion arc--that was dynamically successful mind you--and as pretty the "Superman" of the CAH universe he pushed for the formation of what is now the CAH RPG's superhero team "The Guardians". His love for this Misc. section is never-ending and can be seen along with his GM-ship concerning the CAH RPG.

Breakout Player of the Year:

Some people might look at this award and at first glance wonder "how is this different from 'Most Improved Player'? If some of you don't, then fine. But at first glance I can understand how that could be the case. This award, I feel, is for those who did something unexpected and just made you go "wow". The nominee I am putting forth took me by surprise in the CAH RPG. When it comes to character-created RPGs I look for the people who really get original and take unexpected turns. Have you read anything that Rain Dog has posted in the CAH RPG alone? I know he does great stuff in other RPGs within the Misc. section but wow each character he has created in the CAH RPG have been characters I'd die to see printed. His ideas so interesting and simplisticly original...it's insane.

Most Improved Player:

This poster is not a new one, and he has always been known for being a great writer. Heck, he has been here longer than me and is someone I considered a vet before people considered me one. But, when SuperFerret decided to join the CAH RPG in 2010 with his SuperFerret character he impressed me with his concepts and ideas. I knew he was very passionate about animals and it was even more obvious given I know what he is studying in school, but...you could really see his passion and that what he was writing came from the heart when he was writing SuperFerret in the CAH RPG. It blew me away it was like another side of SF that I should've known was there/possible.

Best Newcomer:

Read this dude's work and you would think that he has been a member of the hype RPGs for years. I have not ventured as much as say, Keyser, wieg, and twy, to other websites and their styles of RPGs but not to be snobbish I feel that the un-official "criteria" we set for the SHH RPGs is pretty high in a good way. The way Bounce writes just makes you want to keep reading. If I see a huge post from Bounce I don't go "oh damn, this is going to take a while" it is more like "wow, time to see what hardcore in depth characterization he works with now". Very unusual for a newcomer. Love his work.

IC Awards

Best Multiple PC Story Arc:

It bugs the hell out of me that I cannot seem to properly spell part of the "title/name" of the story I am nominating. I cannot count how many times I went back through the IC thread to make sure that I spelled a certain name of a certain alien race correctly only to forget it the next time I needed to mention it. But here goes nothing. If you haven't read the Arkaleen Invasion of Lost Haven in the CAH RPG you deserve to be slapped. Sometimes invasions can start out great, and then it feels like any other invasion story and then the end can be great or again typical. But this arc...while the masterminds behind it had a certain end in mind...this arc really allowed the players participating to drive it any way they wish. I read so many good posts relating to this arc and especially the aftermath events that occurred after. I honestly was skeptical about it when I heard of the idea before I participated and read others posts. It was a blast.

Best Solo Story Arc:

I don't particularly like Superman. I'm not saying that because of it, I dislike any and all Superman scenes/cameos/stories/interactions or anything...but when DC only shoves Batman and Superman down the fans throats it makes me a little sour. But Andy's Superman and the Source Wall arc was unexpected and an adventure I looked forward to. The surprise with Harlekin--a dude I have a totally non-gay mancrush on--was seriously spectacular. It was an arc that started in 2009 and ended in 2010 with Superman's return to the DCU. Great stuff, Andy.

Best Hero:

It is funny, as I write this. I am nominating a character that personally, out of the mythos he comes from, isn't actually my favorite of the group but the poster who has worked with him has changed that. Keyser's work with Hal Jordan has been the equivalent to Geoff John's "re-lighting" of the character. Before Johns came along Jordan kind of felt boring and bland, as with the RPG in times until Keyser came along. Soze made him more appealing, and I was really touched when he first applied to him and I was discussing an Aquaman arc with him and he said something of the sort that he wanted to do what I have been doing with Aquaman for Green Lantern. And what he meant was expose the inner mythos and characters of the mythos that branch out from this hero. Guess what, bud? You've been doing a spectacular job so far. Can't wait to see what we see in the final season of the DC RPG.

Best "Walking The Line" Character:

Of the three categories that we align characters to, in every single RPG the Walking the Line characters are always the smallest list. I think it is because we are comicbook fans, and we are more often exposed to heroes and villains than people who truly fall under the Walking the Line title it could be the case. So when I see wiegeabo take the literal meaning of Walking the Line and apply it to his Sinestro in the DC RPG, makes me smile since I've played some characters before who walk that same line. You keep the character going back and forth between good and evil, leaving them confused and struggling on doing the right or wrong thing. At the end of the DC RPG's 7th Season after years of having Sinestro striving towards being a good guy, wiegeabo pulled a 52 with what they did with the character Black Adam in that comicbook series.

Best Villain:
This villain hasn't done much in a large-scale sense, but that does not make him not worthy of this award. What I love about this villain, is simply the nature of him and the way the poster who writes him...writes him. I have to admit, when he asked me to design the Microhero for his villain I thought "this dude is gonna be weird". But man...reading Rain Dog's Reverend Madlove posts in the CAH RPG was always a good read. I felt like a kid waking up early just so I could catch the Saturday morning cartoons in time that aired just a tad earlier than my usual waking up time. The villain is so unique, original, and bizarre in an awesome way.

Best Developed Character
:

There are characters that we don't like in the comics. And it is sometimes because once they are introduced, and we see something we don't like, we stick with that belief even if we decide to not read a single thing they are printed in ever again. That first impression is just so arrogantly branded into our skulls. But Bounce and his portrayal of Damian Wayne has taken me by surprise. Yea, I was one of the people who liked Jason Todd when most didn't when I read him as Robin but I for sure did not like Damian too much before I stopped reading Batbooks. However the way Bounce gets us under Damian's skin makes me enjoy the character so much.

Best Team-Up:

Didn't feel there were many team-ups in the RPGs I participated in in 2010. So this one is N/A for me.

Best Fight:

I hope that this can fall under this category. Because really, is a fight defined to just fists and laser beams and physical chaos? When we argue with someone we so commonly and so very often title it a fight if it gets real nasty. The Trial of Sinestro at the end of the DC RPG's 7th Season in the beginning of 2010 was one nasty back and forth banter between the heroes of the DCU and the Guardians of the Universe. People spoke their peace and the Guardians spat back theirs and soon...everyone was just spitting at each other. Civilized insults were made, two Green Lanterns were stripped of their rings, an Atlantean King asked to leave, with the life of a man trying to reform on the line. Powerful stuff.

Best Post:

Some people when thinking about such a concept might go "...huh, really? Are you serious?" but the second that this poster told me of his idea before he made it official by posting it, I was like "nice". Why? Because while I did not know how he would make it work and be accepted, I knew he would make it happen. During Guy Gardner's Revelation which byrd posted on precisely January 1st, 2010 (suck on that, *****es! still part of 2010) was so well done just...he made it believeable that Guy Garder--of ALL people--would be granted a Star Sapphire ring as he reveals just how much love that rough and rude exterior actually has. I'll let you realize what it is he realizes and exposes he loves with the link.

Wow. Thanks for the love Trusty. :yay:

Thanks for the nom, Syn. But I think I'm ineligible since I won that award back in 07' if I recall correctly.

Also, I'll post some noms up soon myself.

I'll have some noms up this weekend. In WoH too.

Cool. Just so everybody knows, the cut off to getting all your **** in is this coming Monday, the 20th. I want to give a few days for people to vote and then give trusty the winners to whip the awards up and then we can reveal the winners sometime after Christmas.

Thanks to everyone who nominated me. I've put a lot of work and thought into Babs and Jason this year, and it's really rewarding to hear others love the stories. Thanks again.

I appreciate the nominations. Though, I'm not sure if I should put any up considering I've only been (debatably) active in like 3 RPGs the past year.
