Looks about right in that shot, but we'd have to see him standing next to ordinary folks in street clothes to see if he could pass for Clark. Six one or two is probably best height. Two ten to two two twenty-five tops weight wise.

Yeah, thats the thing. Like in the World's Finest Fanfilm, when the guy who plays Superman is in a suit as Clark Kent and standing next to regular sized people, he looks absolutely ridiculous.

Okay, I was searching the internet to find what a muscular, ripped guy with Superman's dimensions (6'3", 235 lbs) would look like in real life.

I tried to find someone with as little bodyfat as possible, and came across this guy:

Name: Stefano (no last name listed on the website)
Height: 6'4" (I know he's an inch taller)
Weight: 240 lbs (Superman would weigh 238.13333 lbs if he were 6'4" tall, so that's pretty close)

I hope this puts an end to all the speculation about Superman's look, but it probably won't.

I just wish I didn't have to know that he shaved EVERYWHERE. And yeah, you need to see him standing next to normal people for perspective.

Yeah, but at the time for their size and builds ... Bale looked bigger with his muscle mass. Routh's was stretched out. And since he has 3 inches on him, he is bound to weigh more. In TDK Bale has got more of a lean and mean / ripped martial artists body. Kind of like Neal Adams Batman. In person, I'd say his build is more like his Equilibrium build then as big and muscular as he got for BEGINS. He may not be as big, but he's got a mean physique.

Oh and that pic on the last page .... someone take that down. It's incredibily homosexual to even post that in here. No one needs to see that.

He was trying to show what the physique of the superman of the comics would roughly look like in real life. I think someone around that would be about the right size. Well then there is Alex Ross's flabby Superman but that's a whole different story and don't even get me started on his batman

How come the artist says he doesn't want Supes to be all roided up and than he draws Bizzaro.......all roided up. That Bizzaro is pretty buff, bigger than an average Joe.

Thats the thing, Reeve had the perfect look. I just don't see Superman look when I see Routh. He just does not do it for me.

I don't want to speak ill of the departed...but I was never satisified with how Reeve looked as Superman...he wasn't muscular enough...for a dude lifting giganto things and doing so much physical super activity...he should be extremely toned and have a bit more muscle mass.

Also...no one in the films YET has been able to pull off Superman's charm in the comics...very stern, powerful...but with small-town charm. All the actors have gotten down the small town charm...but the powerful presense just misses the mark.

They why not draw him built like Steve Buscemi? Why draw Superman muscular at all? Surely his Kryptonian muscles would almost totally atrophy here on Earth since they don't get any workout at all because all his power comes from the yellow sun. Really he'd be very scrawny and weak looking, though still super strong.

I agree about the first part. Though Clint Walker (Posey in the Dirty Dozen) would have been perfect for the part when he was young, he comes the closest I've seen to pulling off Superman's size, physique, charm, etc. from the comics.

Arms: nice.
Thighs: nice.
Torso, abs, shoulders, calves: too skinny, especially compared to his thighs. Looks like the top half is from one guy and the bottom half (thighs, anyway) from another, bigger guy. Or a weird lens.
Calves: sock marks!!! They couldn't wait to take the photo?

Superman could be enormous if he didn't disguise himself as a regular guy, if he were always Superman. But if he is going to be believable as Clark, he can't have a sixty inch chest and a twenty two inch neck. Glasses ain't gonna hide that.
