They aren't moot though, as that universe that we're used to for Star Trek is still going. He just essentially started his own universe to play around in.

I guess I can go with that, it just felt a little "wrong".

...The guy who played Bones McCoy was spot on, it was like watching a young Deforest Kelly.
Eomer!

Crazy stuff here, but it works:

I like the new version. A LOT!

;) :D

I've seen Star Trek twice so far (which of course means I LOVED the film). I'll probably see it a couple more times for good measure. Waiting for the DVD will be difficult :( Its a shame Abrams didn't get to do Superman, somehow I think if he had we would have gotten a much better supes movie. Perhaps after WB sees his excellent work with Star Trek they'll give him another shot at it.

No kidding, we may have actually got some action in the movie. I'm with you, I already wish Star Trek was on DVD, since I can't afford to see it in the theatre again. I have to save what movie money I have left for "Up" and "Transformers 2".

It just amazes me how fantastic the movie was. This comes from a huge fan of the original series. The new McCoy, Spock, and Scotty were to me the best characters in the movie. Seeing Leonard Nimoy again was awesome, and his line to Kirk (which I have in my sig) made me smile like crazy. All in all, it is serious contender for one of my favorite movies ever.

I am also now wishing they had given his vision for Superman a chance.

"I love this ship....so exciting!" - Scotty

Thank you for stating what we all felt Mr. Scott. :D

As for me:

I LOVED the original show. I was a star trek fangirl way before Smallville came along. I'd watch it every afternoon when it was in reruns on a local station (I'm not quite old enough to have watched it when it was originally airing, I was like two when it was cancelled). I used to know the episodes by name, like I do with Smallville or did with Quantum Leap, so I have a lot of affection for the original series.

That said, I absolutely adored the new movie. It held just enough canon for it to be satisfying to me as a fan of the original show but then added a twist which allows any future installments to go forward in any direction they choose.

AWESOME!

I LOVED the movie and I can't wait to see what they do next with it.

Oh, and just as an aside, I just read Craig's interview with Cassidy Freeman where she admitted she reads the reviews!

God... that'll make me self-conscious. Although, I guess she has nothing to worry about from me, I'm a huge fan of hers and I love Tess.

*bites nails*

But, man... I had really thought that the actors never read reviews.

I mean, I've known a lot of actors and they generally don't like reading reviews, although I guess most are insecure enough that good reviews will always be welcome.

*sigh*

I try so hard to be honest, but I never want to hurt feelings either.

Oh, well, I'll just keep doing what I'm doing. I don't think she'll have anything to worry about with my review of Injustice.

I'm going to be throwing a lot of love the show's way...

I love love love that shot and the concept art behind it. I've got that QT on my work HD and look at it from time to time. :p

I think it'd be neat to see Kandor again... ;)

I recently got a twitter account because my sister said I should and I was curious what it was all about...

Well, my favorite person to follow so far is Supernatural star Misha Collins.

(You know, the guy who plays Castiel and will be a regular cast member next season.)

See his twittering (tweeting) here:

He's funny.

I recomend him, he seems to be the funniest guy I'm following.

Not to toot my own horn or anything, but....

Secret Identities signing at Midtown Comics in Times Square with LARRY HAMA, CHRISTINE NORRIE and CLIFF CHIANG!

this has been bothering me for some time:

QUESTION: Can anyone identify the "Red Hot Chilli Peppers" song used in Season 2, the episode where Dr. Bryce's ex boyfriend comes back to stalk her. When he goes back to his motel room and smashes his face against the glass (to frame Lex) there's a RHCP song playing in the background. What is it?

It was "Don't Forget Me"

I looks like the Red Hot Chli Peppers song that was in Precipice was "Don't Forget Me".

Found it on KryptonSite's music page here:

Hello old friends. What's everyone up to? Sometimes you just need to get away from this place for your own mental health.

Hey y'all!

I figured this might be the best place to come (without starting a new thread).

I'm thinking of having a little Smallville marathon sometime soon, and have been trying to put together a list of the episodes that would play. The goal is to have one episode from seasons 1-7 (which, runtime alone, totals somewhere between 5-6 hours... oof).

Here's the list I have now. If you have ideas of better choices, please, let me know, I'd love the input! I want the final selection to be a good mix for both those who are familiar with the show, one watched but don't watch anymore, and those who are new to the show.

Thanks. :)

Season 1 - Pilot 50 min
Season 2 - Rosetta 44 min
Season 3 - Memoria 43 min
Season 4 - Commencement 53 min
Season 5 - Hidden 42 min
Season 6 - Nemesis 41 min
Season 7 - Arctic 41 min

I'm having particular trouble with seasons 3 & 7...

For Season 7 I'd go for Apocalypse instead of Arctic.

It's a much better episode and Tom totally rocked the direction, as he did with this past season's Injustice.

I'd go with Splinter in Season 5 and either Run or Transference in season 4 instead of Nemesis and Commencement, but I don't have any particular problems with them.

The Pilot and Rosetta are excellent choices from the first two seasons.

I've just been rewatching seasons 1-7 in preperation for the release of season 8 on DVD. Right now I'm currently on season 3

still got a bit to go

It's a rock solid list, Zorex. A couple of suggestions:

I'd personally replace "Nemesis" with "Justice". The latter isn't even one of my favorites, but I think it's a substantial moment in Smallville history. I was never really a big fan of "Nemesis". A major disappointment, IMO.

And as for Season 7, there's no way you can overlook "Descent". One of the five best of the series.

I loved Nemesis. That's the one where Clark and Lex get stuck in a cave-in and hilarity ensues, right?

I adored Nemesis but it did have some logic problems... Although, it did feature Caroline Dries' first script as a writer for the show (she started out as a script editor or something) and it was the first time Mairzee Almas had directed for Smallville although I believe she had directed for another show before becoming a 1st Assistant Director for SV.
