I've been saying this since day one.

the quote in EW still supports my theory.

He's MIA AT THE START OF THE FILM.

Exactly what it would be. Still worked through the 8 years, quietly aiding Gordon to this peace time and success comes just before the start of TDKR and his mission is over.

I came back just for this Rag, we've had many a discussion about this. I don't know how you can still say the quote supports your theory.

It says "Bruce Wayne is still recovering physically and emotionally from the tragic battles with the Joker and Harvey Dent" and "continues to be reviled and MIA as the story begins" until "two new threats to Gotham force Batman to end his exile".

No matter how hard it is to stomach, Batman is not Batman during that 8 years and the cane is from TDK. He's still physically recovering and continuing to be MIA as the story begins. He didn't just start being MIA when the story begins, he was MIA the whole time.

Possible, just not overtly proven.

I still think that he's only just stopped being Batman but, I'm not saying the adverse is impossible.

Nothing revealed yesterday implies more of each. It only proves part of what I've been saying.

I think the trailer will be with The Avengers. It will have a huge box office draw, and target the people that WB wants to. Dark Shadows, I doubt that will be a huge BO hit, and a different audience for the most part.

It's stupid NOT to put it with Avengers, it's the exact same audience and they all coming in huge droves. You couldn't get a more perfect film to attach the trailer to.

Yeah I think the trailer will be with The Avengers as well. I remember in 2008, The Dark Knight trailer was attached to Iron Man, and that came out on May 2. With The Avengers coming out on May 4, it's the perfect time to release a new trailer. Forget the fact that that's where comic/superhero/Batman fans are going to be. The Avengers is where EVERYONE is going to be. If you want to reach the most people with this trailer in theaters, The Avengers is the best film to do it with.

I agree, I think they will debut the trailer with the Avengers but it's not like the trailer will go away (unlike the last two TDKR trailers) so It's going to be played during Dark Shadows as well.

Is it just me, or is that the swarm of 1000 police cars we saw chasing Batman in one of the set videos earlier? Just behind that truck.

That's what I was trying to suggest earlier. Seems like Batman has time to stop and think.


That face he's making is sure to be the face of this character in this film as he does it about five times in the trailer.

I'm willing to be he pulls out his new gun toy, right after to slow down the cops or whatever.

EDIT: I'm also willing to suspect on that screen are blueprints of Wayne Manor.

Seems to me that the cars are approaching and very close near him.

it doesn't seem plausable that bruce would need a cane for 8 years though from the injuries in TDK. He was shot, but had armor on. I can't imagine it was THAT bad of damage. The cane has to have come from the beating from bane.

know it's been suggested, but cane could also be from botching the landing after jumping out of Gordon's hospital window

Oh it makes sense now, I can imagine batman looking at the ipad and uncovering the wayne manor blueprints and he's like "oh s***t" and the hans music booms.
