I'd rather she have some claws than the whip.

So upset about the Barbra Gordon thing. Who the hell would go to all that trouble and lie about that????? Ffffffffffffffuuuuuuu!!!!
His name is Dwight, and he's a jerk! :\

God I think a whip would be so corny. What purpose would it serve? Lol

Corny? A guy in pointy ears and a cape that looks like a big towel is cool, but a whip would be corny?

It serves many purposes. She uses it in combat, to disarm people, trip them up, climbs buildings with it etc. It's an iconic Catwoman prop. I can't imagine her without it. Unfortunately it looks like she's not going to have it.

If we can't have a cowl, it will be nice to have at least a whip or the claws.

Bale talks Batman's loss in TDKR.

"How long will you let the pain and loss define your life? Walking around chasing bad guys is very heroic and attracts attention, but at the end it all accounts for, as a means to deal with the pain of a huge loss."

"It's time for Bruce Wayne to face the pain, that has always stirred his life."

Not sure how far a whip will get
her combat wise facing three mercs with loaded guns. Plus I just think it would be terribly out of
place in this movie for her. And yes the big towel with pointy ears does look cool:)

Catwoman has taken on room fulls of armed men. You have read the comics, haven't you?

How far do you think she would get facing three mercs with loaded guns with no weapon at all?

Plus I just think it would be terribly out of
place in this movie for her.

Why?

It looks like Bruce will find out that more than 8 years is enough. :yay:

I never said she should have no weapon at all. Just... Not a whip. Idk I just think it would look... Funny I guess is the best word. I'd always pictured her with a whip in more of a cartoony medium.. Then again maybe she will have one and it will be fine. I just think there's much better ways of approaching selinas weaponry than a whip.

^Yup, and at the end, Gotham will know it's true savior, Bruce Wayne. His identity will be revealed.

ok maybe i'm just pushing buttons but with whole 8 years things are we gonna get even a mention of other villains, maybe heaven forbid a joker reference.

seems kinda daft but in 8 years he's only had to deal with mobsters, when in his first 1/2 years he had psychos, ninjas and chemical warfare

I'd say it's definitely at the very least gonna be a semi tragic ending for our hero. In a lot of ways.

I hope not

I don't get this line of thinking, if it serves the story, and we know Nolan is ENDING his particular Batman story, I don't see what the big deal is.

I'll take this over killing him all day long. Knowing that this takes place 8 years later and reading some of the quotes yesterday, it looks to me more and more that his identity will indeed be revealed - he saves Gotham as both Batman and Bruce Wayne, solidifying him as a Legend, carrying on this Father's Legacy, and restoring the Wayne Family as Gotham's First Family.

How does everyone know the whole movie will take place eight years later?

I bet you all the prologue involves a key event that happens in TDK time. Follow through to 8 years later for the rest of the film's events to unfold.

If not that, I don't think the entire movie, first frame to final frame, will be in that "8 YEARS LATER" span.

As someone corrected me, the Empire mag quoted Nolan saying "The story picks up after eight years." Not much room for interpretation there.

Yeah except the prologue is definitely about bane.

There are ways to thematically end something without Batman retiring or dying. All you have to do is bring it full circle to a degree in which Batman's character arc over all three films is resolved and his main character struggles are resolved. Any future films won't want to open old wounds in the character for story purposes.

I personally think Batman retiring or Batman dying would be lame and all-too-easy to give the trilogy some finality. I'm hoping Nolan is more creative than that. Many don't think Inception had a definitive ending but it DID - Cobb's character arc came full circle and was fully resolved. That can happen to Bruce Wayne without Batman ending necessarily.

^ Cobb presumably didn't carry on as an extractor, he got to be with his children. So his story was resolved. If Bruce Wayne carries on his crusade as Batman IMO we haven't reached a resolution.

Yeah I don't necessarily think he's gonna die or retire, when I said semi tragic, I just think a coupe of people who are very close to him are gonna be in some serious trouble in this film.
