Did you guys notice how the ''R''; in ''Rogues'' is the same as the ''R'' symbol for Robin?

This is going to sound really movie nerdish but it looks as if there's three different colour schemes in this film. Warm yellow like in Begins, muted blue like TDK and what looks like desaturated colour similar to the Rises posters.

There's been alot of talk about that in the manip threads.

I wonder what sort of running time this movie will end up getting?! I have a feeling it'll be the longest of them all, no matter what. That's not just wishful thinking here. This movie definitely LOOKS to be the one with the most to cover! Something around 2:40 HOURS, I seriously don't believe is way out of left field here. What do you guys think?

I dont think its going to be that long. I think its safe to say it wont go past the run time of TDK, since that was considered a pretty long movie

Yeah, but that's just it. The running time for TDK was so justified! It had much to say and show, and there isn't one single scene I'd do without.. every scene build upon the next and every scene made perfect sense.. "Rises" just seems that much bigger in scope, with even more characters to balance. But we'll see.

The Dark Knight Rises is set 8 yrs after The Dark Knight, from the beginning.

Batman has been working all this time, but Gotham has been cleaned from the criminal element and he dons the cape & cowl less and less.

However, the corruption/criminality has moved to Gothams rich/elite/wealthy/politicians. Hence why Gordon is being removed and puts Selina's chat with bruce into context.

Bane, the new leader of the LoS as come to clean/destroy Gotham due to this.

He defeats and breaks Batman, who is now out of the picture.

He also defeats Gordon.

Bane now has Gotham under his rule, the criminals back on the street. Gotham is now back to Batman Begins Gotham, slowly destroying itself. Bane plans to completly wipe out Gotham using the earthquake machine.

Bruce retrains and gets stronger.

He returns to Gotham to find Gordon on his death bed (from teaser), reveals himself as Bruce Wyane/Batman to him.

Gordon DIES.

The Cops are impacted by this, their War Hero has been killed. They look to Batman.

Batman comes out the shadows and leads the cops in a final battle with Bane & his LoS (fight on the steps)

Batman and Gotham victorious.

It ends with Gotham needing rebuilding and Batman still protecting it

I think TDK could have had a shorter running time. There was a little chuck at the end that could have been taken out. I think nolan can tell everything he wants to tell within a reasonable running time. Even a good movie can run too long

Hmm not a bad theory, I want something a little less predictable though

I think TDK could have had a shorter running time. There was a little chuck at the end that could have been taken out. I think nolan can tell everything he wants to tell within a reasonable running time. Even a good movie can run too long

Yeah; I'm with those who believe that Bruce has been active as Batman throughout the 8 year gap, since interviews have said that Bruce is worn and torn from his years of being batman, and if he had given up the cowl and cape before the events of TDKR, that means that he was only batman for 1 year, and he looked physically fine at the end of TDK, aside from having crashed down to the ground.lol

Could you imagine if they just cut to credits right after it shows the Joker laughing madly swinging upside down while the swat arrives? Talk about giving me serious... blue-bats.

Seeing how this is the conclusion to it all, I think it would be extremely fitting if it all started with a quick resume/montage of TDK's pivotal scenes (back to the future style), leading up to Batman on the batpod, racing up the street where TDK went to black. THEN, Have it open up to only a few days later, where we (as in the proloque) see Gordon talking about Harvey Dent. About him "believing" in Harvey Dent. You know, just those short words, exactly as heard and shown in the beginning of the proloque. After that, screen goes fades to black again. Next, we open up to the Bane opening sequence. The only new thing added on the screen is "8 YEARS LATER" - and off we go...

You have to admit that would make sense... It seems weird that "Rises" opens (as seen in proloque) with Gordon's words about Dent and then, off to Bane we go. It seems fitting to blend in some sort of "that was then - THIS is now" kinda thing. You know?

not bad, but the part about Gordon dying doesnt add up when you factor that he is part of the chase scene involving that huge truck and the Bane-mobiles. I assume that chase scene is at the end of the movie as Batman tries to save the day by destroying the "device of liberation".

but then again... who knows.

Actually you know what, when I look back on it I dont think I would take anything out.

That's what I loved about TDK, and the way it ended with dialog between Gordon, Harvey/Two-Face and Batman, just before he went on the run. I think Nolan knew the audience would be totally exhausted by the end of TDK (in a good way!). Those final moments in the building with Two-Face and the leading to batman's run, I felt was a quiet time of "winding down" from the whole movie, you just witnessed. When the credits finally roll over the screen, everything felt so damn complete! So beautifully rounded off. I wouldn't have had it any other way actually. The whole movie experience was so fulfilling, beautiful and satisfactory. Like you REALLY felt deep in your gut, you sooo got your money's worth! You know? And in the best possible way. It's the best time I ever spend at the movies. Unlike say "Transformers: Revenge of the fallen", where you felt 2-1/2 hours had just been snapped out of your life, totally spend in vain! :-( ... something like that.

Dude! Had that happened AFTER the credits finished rolling over the screen, then seriously, they could easily had done it without ruining the beautiful ending as it was. Totally cool closing. I can see it now:

SWAT arrives. The Joker is still bursting out in psycho laughter. SWAT approaches. Joker stops laughing abruptly, trying to lift his head from being upside down. He tries to focus on them:

"Thank God you guys finally got here. I knew you wouldn't keep me hanging!"

SWAT brings him down, cuffing him. One officer looks at him mad:

"What the hell are you grinning off, you sick son of a *****?"

We see the the Joker being dragged away, as he says:

"Ok, ok. I imagine you're all pretty mad at me, I get that. But I can't_STOP_smiling! Speaking of which - You wanna know how I got these scars?"

Boom! Screens goes black... LOL

nah I'm pretty sure he's in that scene where Bats is hooking up the bomb to the batwing to fly it somewhere before it blows up. the one where Catwoman gives him a kiss for luck before takes off.

We knew the Gotham team was called the Rogues and they were told to make signs. Simples.

Gordon is part of the tumbler/truck chase. and the chase starts after the fight on the stairs. the batwing crashed the truck. and we saw that Gordon was standing next to teh crashed truck,Catwoman and Batman. if Gordon dies he dies at the end.
