About this football thing, I agree with what kvz5 said about Bruce and a woman being at a football game. They’ll probably just be watching it, and something huge will happen with Bane. Or maybe it’s not even important at all… I doubt it that the football game itself will be a vital part of the storyline :P

What the hell are you talking about? NFL is easily America's national sport. The SuperBowl is consistently one of the most watched events on a yearly basis. What can possibly be campy about having football players in a movie?

okay look at superman returns. For any real sports fan, that goes to games, seeing generic baseball teams, that are not real teams makes it seem real stupid. just saying

I agree, the football game wont be a vital part. What happens during the game is what will be important. I like that idea as well. Something happens there, and Bruce has to some how slip out of there and get into his Batman gear unnoticed. I could see something like that happening. But I could also see him not being there at all during the game, and showing up after the chaos starts. But I'd be happy with either one.

This may come as a shock to you but, Gotham City isn't a real city...so it wouldn't have a real team in correspondence to it.

Gotham is a city just like any other city, except it has Batman. It makes perfect sense to see a sport's team there, whether its a real one or not.

So sports can't happen in a Batman film? That makes no sense. Gotham is just a city, like any other city, with people doing everyday things. The football isn't going to be a main focus in the movie. Something is going to be happening at the stadium during a football game, that's it. Batman isn't going to be joining in on the game or anything.

In case it sounds too anti-Nolan for your taste, I will rephrase it for you in a way that it can help to brighten your night; I don't like the idea [because I don't like football]. Again, I'm not saying it CAN'T happen. However I'm looking forward to this scene because it's possible that it can turn out to be a great scene. Is there a problem with that?

I'm all for a football game attack/batman exit. But if Batman goes to fight Bane on a football field, even my own beloved hometown football team's field, I might get sick. That sounds way too cliche' and childish for me.

I hate football, it is by far my least favorite sport. But that doesn't mean I wouldn't mind seeing it in a movie. You said, it seems "unusual" to have football in a Batman movie. How it it unusual? Batman lives in a city, and cities normally have sports teams. Unless you mean its unusual because it hasn't happened yet, because then I understand what your saying. Ya, its going to be nice to see something new and different in a Batman movie.

I doubt we'll see a major action sequence during a football game. Meaning, something may happen during one, but it (the game itself) won't be the highlight.

Ya, apparently they planned on blowing it entirely up, but something happened, and they can't do it. So now I believe they are just going to set off some small explosions in the stadium that wont hurt it.

They couldnt get permission to blow up the arena, so they switched locations to a larger football field and will stage smaller explosions. (Rumored)

I never heard of or ever thought about sporting events taking place in a Batman Universe. Just like I never thought of skate parks, super markets, video stores or any other casual places like those being be shown in Batman films.
