Grant Rollings (The Sun) just gave it a positive review.

So all this masterpiece talk and standing ovations was blowing smoke.
The critics arent digging it. I will judge it myself.

But if the critics dont like it, do you still think it stands a chance to win oscars a la The Return of the King?

Lol, not one for math I see.

Actually, 86% of the critics thus far have "digged it."

Seriously, people ?

It isn't like Nolan was lying. He said this would be the completion of Bruce's story.

I know I asked this awhile back, and thescoop said less Batman time than Bruce, but is Batman's screentime less than BB? If so, that's going to be tricky as hell. Even with a Bruce Wayne who is very developed with motives and drive; if there is less Batman time than BB that's going to be a real hard sell.

Why does anything less than 90% on RT mean the critics don't dig it? lol

86% of critics so far-and that's just those on RT might disagree with you there.

I don't care about Batman not having a lot of screen time, but that's just me.

I prefer that the story of Bruce Wayne has the priority.

BB and TDK had the same amount of bat-percentage per film. I think it was around 16%? I was hoping TDKR would have the same, if not more, especially since its the longer of the three.

How many critics liked TDK? MOre? I see...
So the fact that more critics liked TDK (which has 250 reviews) means that critics, as a collective whole, aren't digging this one?

Do you not see the crater in this logic?

The lack of Batman is a punch in the gut, to say the least.

If Nolan pulls it off like BB, we are fine. The Batman scenes were insane and bad ass. But less than that, I don't know.

We got spoiled with TDK, because Batman was already fully formed. He was all over the film, here and there.

I think one of the concerns for me after reading Ebert and other reviews is that John Blake is going to make the film less enjoyable.

Me too. If it serves the story, that's ok with me. I think it will only help emphasize the idea that Batman is missed and needed in Gotham. Plus if his screentime is similar to the amount in BB, I have no problem with it either.

I'm not seeing the movie now because of what other people said about a movie that is still being excellently praised.

More critics liked it than not so I'm not seeing what you mean at all.
Ok the last string of feviews were positive, should RT raise TDKR to atleast %92 or something?
The percentage is based off of positive reviews. That's it. They don't arbitrarily change it.

Any lack of Batman shouldn't be a surprise to anyone. The film begins with Bruce in retirement and at some point Batman's defeated and thrown in jail. That's a solid chunk of no Batman in the story.

Peoples comments on critics not liking the film are making me sad.

Nolan's going completely the other way in this film. This is 100%, without a doubt, Bruce Wayne's film. That's stunning that he had the balls to go that route in this climatic finale.

A finale to Batman, with less Batman and more Bruce Wayne? I'm sorry but that's balls.

I am actually pumped the more I hear that Bruce gets screen time. I'm with what most have said here, that first hour of Batman Begins hooked me into this franchise forever. With TDK what hooked me was Harvey Dent and the tragedy of his story. I am glad he decided to come back to Bruce and set the focus on concluding his journey.

I respect what Ebert has accomplished over his career but I don't know why folks wait on pins and needles for his reviews anymore. He's all over the place.

Basically, he liked it and called it an "honourable finale" but he didn't feel that there was enough Batman (in the suit) and he felt that Bane was a let-down after Ledger's Joker (hard to top).

Now that we lost the backing of the critics, and oscar buzz seems fading away with every passing minute and review coming out, do you understand why i want this movie to break all records? That's all we've got, folks, all what's remaining for us to talk about.

I hope it breaks the OW.

I don't understand when Ebert says there is "too little Batman" in the film. Bruce Wayne is Batman ! All the scenes with Bruce and Alfred, Bruce and Lucius, the scenes in the prison, they are all Batman, even if he is not in costume. Let's not forget Bruce Wayne is simply a mask that Batman wears in public, not the other way around.

I'm not sure if Ebert was expecting more action-packed sequences with Batman in costume, or if he legitimately thinks that Batman was relegated to being a secondary character in this film.
