I find it very curious how quickly fans are turning on TDKT. I happened to mention on the BvS board that i would love if the solo Batman film were a little more grounded than BvS, just to balance things, and some people were really, really rude in their answers, telling me to go watch TDK trilogy and stuff. I get that people wanna see a different approach, but it still surprised me how much they seem to resent Nolan´s vision.

Get ready. Whole bunch of people here are going to start pretending all three of the films were never any good to begin with. Happened with Burton's movies when Begins came out, happened with the Raimi movies when TASM came out, sort of happened to the Donner Superman when Man of Steel was in production, etc. It's the "new toy" effect.

Yeah it's what you call the fanboy cycle. When something new and shiny comes along suddenly the old stuff is rubbish.

Which will be really funny in the case of Leto/Ledger since a number of people have already noticed the influence in the voice. Basically Ledger came up with the perfect live action Joker voice (Hamill perfect for animation) and I agree with Leto's decision to imitate it. He's a damn good actor so I am excited by what we'll get from him.

I'm thinking Leto will have some different laugh variations going on in the actual film. But yeah, aside from the tats and grills I'm loving what I am seeing.

After seeing the full SS trailer in HD, it's way better than the BvS trailer, IMO.

Of course, as every live-action Joker has had and will continue to have for all of eternity.

I think they just picked a creepy, eerie, unconventional laugh to go with the creepy tone of the trailer. You know he's going to have all kinds of laughs -- giddy, mocking, cackling, uncontrollable, etc.

Yeah, and if I was Ledger I'd take it as a huge compliment that another actor was inspired by my performance like that.

Im actually confident in Suicide Squad. Batman vs Superman, not so much. I know it will be good fun at the very least, and it looks like some great scenes will come out of it. Scenes with weight to it. But im not totally convinced about the fighting, the battles, or the final half hour or so (is Doomsday even in the movie? or is it just Michael Shannon returning as a robotic variation of Zod?).

Great trailer but folks on the BvS boards are acting like it's automatically going to be an awesome movie but sometimes a movie ends up mediocre even if the trailer is jaw-dropping.

Some of the movements, like the Batman using the grappling gun looked straight out of a video game.

I´m afraid it starts well but ends up not knowing when to stop. The freedom movies have nowadays, of being able to do pretty much anything, sometimes works against them.

Too early to judge that IMHO. I thought the Jurassic World CGI looked awful in the trailers but it turned out great in the film itself.

You are right about the hyperbole on the forums though. It's a very good trailer, but Snyder is a specialist at creating strong trailers. Just have to see how it goes.

I hope the final act is not anywhere near as mind numbing as the seemingly endless destruction porn in Man of Steel. Having Batman in there should help a lot in that regard.

Its definitely an amazing 2 way street. If you don't like the casting of someone then your biased. By the same token, these same fanboys have already decided that Affleck will be the best batman ever. Really? I take each film as they come. I loved BB and TDK, but that didn't mean that TDKR would get a free ride because of previous work. (Remember people threatening websites if they posted a bad review?)
I personally can't stand Affleck, however, I'm completely open to whatever performance he gives. Leto? I'm liking the laugh, but damn...those grills and face tats.

Really enjoy Leto's creepy laugh. The cinematography on Suicide Squad looks great. Very grounded feel to it.

Yeah Redfirebird, i know what you mean. There's time for improvement but i get the feeling that Snyder is still content with his work on MOS. The video gamey moments are just too much for me when i see Superman and Zod in the air flying around. I got this exact vibe when i saw Superman crashing through something in mid air, then they show Batman crashing through something on the opposite side. Then CG explosions around Wonder Woman + Batman's grappling. It's like something out of Arkham Knight. It's fun no doubt, but it makes me feel a little bit disconnected to the hype because now i know Zack is not listening to the fans who criticized that part of his previous movie.

Zack always has this mentality of "more is more" instead of "less is more" (which at the very least should be his mindset once in a while).

The long final MOS trailer looked just as good as this first official one. Im only a little more excited cuz it's Batman.

If there's balance in the action, this could smoke MOS and be one of the greatest comic book movies of all time. Im not going to say "THIS IS GOING TO BE THE GREATEST MOVIE OF ALL TIME!". I literally read that in the BvS forum yesterday.

Suicide Squad is more up my alley, because of the way the action is shot. Not to mention Cavill still looks like he has one facial expression. It's always that look of concern with those eyebrows.

Those people are dumb. And you have to understand that this isn't something new or exclusive to BvS, or even comic book fandom. People said the same kind of **** when Bale was cast in BB and first pictures/video came out, people say the same thing about new athletes on their favorite teams versus older athletes who helped them win championships, etc.

It's best to ignore them and engage with the more reasonable, logical, unbiased people you'll find here.

I like that they are trying to do a real-world take on Superman's presence on Earth. The protestors with their signs, the supreme court or whoever and all. I also like that they are embracing some more fantastic concepts as well that you wouldn't see in Nolan's trilogy.

The Suicide Squad looks like it might be my baseline for a "fun" movie, going by the new trailer.

I know completely what you mean about the video gamey feel. It was a major drawback in MoS for me, but seeing it applied to Batman stings a bit more. I knew it was going to happen, but yeah. I have 0 expectation for balance. The nature of the story is probably even more bombastic than MoS, and Zack is a kid in a candy store with the material. I don't think restraint enters the equation at all here...this is the movie he's been building towards his whole career. And you know what, in a sense I get that. You only get one opportunity to make this movie, and only one time to do the first ever cinematic meeting of Batman and Superman. So it's definitely go big or go home. I just wish it didn't have to look so video gamey. I believe it's absolutely possible to pull off this kind of action without it looking that way.

At the very least though, I feel like I know exactly what to expect from this movie after this trailer. The first 3 Man of Steel trailers had me anticipating somewhat of a different movie, one with more grace, warmth and subtlety than the one we got. Then the Nokia trailer came along, and it started to paint a more accurate picture but I was still clinging to the memory of that incredible Trailer 3. With this Comic Con trailer I feel like we already basically got the Nokia-style trailer way ahead of time so I have my expectations dialed in closer to where they probably should be.

I completely agree with you. What I had envisioned after seeing that fantastic third trailer was completely different (in a disappointing way) from the movie we got. As great as BvS may be, I will still judge mos on its own and not for any 'corrections' they are trying to justify in this sequel.

Everything seems to happen when I go out. I should go out more often. :funny:
-Croc's make up work is absolutely fantastic. I like the very Hannibal Lecter-esque stretcher part too.
-As someone who was nervous about Smith, this calmed me down a little. I'm still not a big fan of him as an actor but he seems to be doing a solid job here.
-Not enough of Courtney to say anything, still the member of the cast that worries me the most.
-Viola Davis was :atp: Enough said. :funny:
-I'm loving Margot's mannerisms for Harley. Still absolutely hate that costume and I'm not exactly sure on the voice, but her mannerisms are spot on.
-I love the contrasting look of this and BvS, it's exactly what I want in these shared universe set ups. Variety. BvS looks big, epic and very comic book panels brought to life. While Suicide Squad has a very dirty look to it.

Not to mention Cavill still looks like he has one facial expression.

Is this why a lot of people were speculating that he was a clone (yes, I anot kidding) in the court scene?

I bet it was.

Almost 11 million views on the Warner YouTube channel for Suicide Squad in less than 24 hours. That is incredible for this particular property. Would not expect it to have that level of buzz.

What do you guys think of the Bat cave? I personally wanted something more cave-y. Batfleck's cave resembles more a basement like Niteowl's. It's also relatively claustrophobic. Wish it was more spacey.

This Bat vigilante is like a one-man reign of terror!

This wouldn't be the case if Joker wasn't involved.

It’s a shame that The Dark Knight Trilogy is getting hate; new toy syndrome is the scourge of fanbases.

Leto taking inspiration from Ledger is definitely not a bad thing; I hope he can put his own spin on it as well. Same thing has happened with Joker VAs that take inspiration from Hamill.

Have you got a screencap of it? Make sure to use spoiler tags.

I think that's just one side of the cave. It might have many levels.
