I know completely what you mean about the video gamey feel. It was a major drawback in MoS for me, but seeing it applied to Batman stings a bit more. I knew it was going to happen, but yeah. I have 0 expectation for balance. The nature of the story is probably even more bombastic than MoS, and Zack is a kid in a candy store with the material. I don't think restraint enters the equation at all here...this is the movie he's been building towards his whole career. And you know what, in a sense I get that. You only get one opportunity to make this movie, and only one time to do the first ever cinematic meeting of Batman and Superman. So it's definitely go big or go home. I just wish it didn't have to look so video gamey. I believe it's absolutely possible to pull off this kind of action without it looking that way.
At the very least though, I feel like I know exactly what to expect from this movie after this trailer. The first 3 Man of Steel trailers had me anticipating somewhat of a different movie, one with more grace, warmth and subtlety than the one we got. Then the Nokia trailer came along, and it started to paint a more accurate picture but I was still clinging to the memory of that incredible Trailer 3. With this Comic Con trailer I feel like we already basically got the Nokia-style trailer way ahead of time so I have my expectations dialed in closer to where they probably should be.
