The most "Batman" scene ever on film. I wouldn't be surprised if nothing ever tops it, even with Snyder/Affleck going for a very comic-accurate, flashy Batman.

lol I hate that scene. The sonar, SWAT, etc...I guess in general I just don't like these over the top action-oriented (usually CGI out the wazoo) climaxes of superhero movies.

Oh yeah, that's 'action Batman' at his very best. Probably still my favourite Batman combat scene of the trilogy. Some people rip into TDK as not being a 'Batman movie' but I've always dismissed that suggestion. As far as the pure Baleman 'performance' goes, I thought he showed great energy in that scene. The Joker ends up stealing that scene because he really does get to Batman's head but as far as 'vengeful' Batman goes, with all the rage, that to me was the best portrayal of that interpretation of the character yet. Critics will say that Bale phoned in his voice in certain scenes ie the trigger scene in TDKR but IMO there was nothing wrong in that interrogation scene alone. It was perfect Batman. Some fans want the 'detective Batman' but I really like this raging Batman too. Contorted intensity spilling into rage, it was awesome to see Batman lose his ***** to The Joker like that. WHERE ARE THEY? :woot:

Oh I see what you're saying. Well yeah it's definitely up there as one of the best, but I'd say there's a few contenders for best Batman scene in that regard. All from the TDK trilogy of course. The Batman/Bane confrontation in the sewers is another.

Yeah flash doesn't automatically make for better. Michael Bay's movies can tell you that. Not to say Batfleck hasn't got potential to be awesome. But he's got a hard act to follow. That goes double for Leto.

I have a feeling they're going to make Batman a killer in this. Like Keaton. And by 'killer', i mean intentionally killing enemies so he can win a fight, when he's not branding them, torturing them. The first time my radar went off was when i saw the teaser and the batwing was shooting people on the streets. Now it looks like Batman is breaking a dudes neck.

I really hope that isn't the case but there's evidence to support it. I'm banking on the Batman: Fury Road scenes being a dream sequence of some sort.

Keaton´s Batman was intentionally killing in order to win? i remember him shooting something or someone. It seemed like a Joker goon, but that scene is so badly done that i´m not sure if that´s suppose to be a person or a manequin. It really looks fake.

Which scene was that? He shot down lots of Joker goons at the parade using the Batwing (then comically missed Joker himself in spite of his target system honing in on Joker specifically lol). But I don't remember him just directly shooting one goon and it looking very fake.

Yeah, it was that scene. If you pay attention, the way one of the goons falls after being shot is very unnatural. Totally looks like a manequin. Maybe it´s just me, but since i was a kid that scene looked odd.

Either way, didn´t the first BvS trailer have a scene where the Batwing clearly kills a bunch of people?

I'll take your word for it. I dislike that whole scene in general for many reasons, that mass slaughter of Joker's men by Batman being one of them.

What´s your take on Batman missing The Joker? Wa it on purpose, or is that just s stupid scene?

That particular 30 seconds is tied with Joker killing Batman's parents as the two worst ideas Burton ever had for the character. What's sad is Burton's Batman seems very smart, figuring out the Joker's chemistry that was killing people.

And yet he can't even shoot the Joker with a targeting system while Joker is begging for it. Then Joker pulls out that ridiculous pistol and takes down the Batwing in one shot. Still love the film but that sequence undermines Batman's competence.

The batwing looks cool in that scene, but it's one of the goofiest scenes in the history of the genre. It's straight out of the 66 series but with a gothic backdrop.

It´s amazing how the vehicle from a movie from 89 looks so much better than a vehicle from 2015, in terms of realism. The old Batwing looked real, because, well, in part it was. The new Batwing looks 100% digital.

What is with people these days? Soccer moms are so hyper vigilant and can’t stand a kid seeing the tamest of things.

I think the latter. There's no reason why it should have missed when he was able to shoot down all his men just seconds before.

Agreed.

That's because they were the days when they were not so lazy to use CGI all the time, even when they don't need to. They used real models and things, and it looks more authentic because of it.

One of the things I love about the TDK trilogy is it's not CGI laden. Nolan used practical effects as much as possible. When Joker blows up a hospital, it's a real building that gets blown up. When Batman flips Joker's circus truck, the truck actually gets flipped over etc.

"Writing serious stories about superheroes for adults is like writing pornography for children."

what the ****

I know. Ridiculous BS.

Like I said good to read if you want a laugh.

Another thing that really killed Burton’s movie is that they made the relationship between Joker and Batman too simple. It was simply revenge with the “you made me” thing and that doesn’t sit well with me. If people like that, then go ahead, but I prefer Joker to have fun challenging Batman and doing the battle of wits. It says a lot about how psychotic Joker is.

They have done it with Hamill like, “Without Batman, crime has no punchline.” scene and Ledger with the whole, “You complete me!” scene. I liked those portrayals so much more because they included that Joker needs Batman to have fun. With Nicholson and Keaton, there was no real battle of wits going on and it was really boring to me. I didn’t like that Batman killed Joker either, or anyone for that matter.

The scene where Batman kills the goons at the parade and misses Joker completely made no sense to me. He can kill everyone else but miss the guy that he shot missiles at.

I agree. It was the most vanilla, by the numbers Joker/Batman rivalry. Entirely forgettable, IMO. Practically all Batman's enemies want to kill him. Having that dimension of Joker seeing Batman more as an entertaining play thing that makes crime more fun, so he doesn't want to kill him, is far more interesting.

My dislike for Leto's Joker design aside, it already looks like he has an interesting relationship with Batman based on the [BLACKOUT]death of Robin tease that we got with the defiled Robin costume by Joker.[/BLACKOUT] I really hope they go somewhere with that.

I'm going to be surprised, with that piece of information, if we don't get Under the Red Hood one day.
