Kilmer also had the yellow logo:

They changed it up for Clooney but looking at it now that logo might be the only part of the costume I don't mind?

Both Kilmer and Clooney had two different suits (one with nipples and one without)

I like Kilmer Batsuits, second Batsuit was needed though as Riddler destroyed Everything in the Batcave but I don't think Batman needed another second Batsuit in B&R.

Yeah, that random batsuit change in B&R still makes me laugh.

Kilmer had it, too. And lets not forget the best Batman of all; Adam West.

I don't know if Penguin was talking about that in a general context....I was talking about it in the context of pictures BatLobster showed, where Keaton is the only one of the three with a yellow oval.

Come on, Mister J, you know I'd never forget who wore the oval and who didn't.

It's pretty crazy to think that we haven't seen the yellow oval in live action since 1995. Not counting the OnStar commercials of course.

I'm hoping for some older Batsuits on display as Easter eggs in the Snyder-cave.

That would be awesome. Even more, imagine a flashback to Batman's first encounter with Red Hood/whoever, and he's got a Wilkinson-ed version of the Finger/Kane costume. Then a flashback to Robin's death, and he's in a Wilkonson-ed version of the blue-and-grey with a yellow oval. I'd be a happy camper.

Oh I know Batsy. It's just Pengy said Keaton was the only one who had it, so I assumed he was talking llve action actors who played Batman on screen.

Is it just me or does that sound more like Mel Gibson in the suit? And who else thinks Gibson could have played a Dark Knight Returns Batsy like...right now, this decade?

To be fair, its easy to forget Kilmer and Clooney, lol. They're easily the George Lazenby of this franchise. Only difference is, at least Lazenby got to be in a good film.

More than "some", more like it's the trend now.

Trends pass. Quality stands the test of time. :cwink:

It's pretty annoying but it happens. It goes in cycles.

Started. It's the fanboy cycle for bashing the old when a new version comes along. It will fade out once the Batman vs Superman fad dies down.

Look at the Raimi bashing from 2009-11. Now look at the opinion on Raimi, it's went back to 2005 level.

Indeed. Same happened with the great Chris Reeve movies (well his first two movies are great) when MOS reared it's bland head.

Even for someone like me, I obviously love the Nolan films, but clearly there's not the same level of insane hype and constant excitement like there was from 2005-2012 and there's just a level of a neutral "been there, done that" attitude which is totally understandable. So I think it's a combination of general excitement naturally dying down, and then the shiny new toy coming along extremely quickly. Dawn of Justice getting pushed back also extends the honeymoon period where people can build it up in their heads with no reality checks.

Then on top of that you have today's insanely saturated geek culture where people seem to be more concerned with looking 20 films ahead than fully appreciating a film they just saw. The current climate makes TDKT feel very old hat, even though it only ended 3 years ago.

I do think distance makes the heart grow fonder though, especially when the quality is there. It hasn't quite been long enough yet for people to look at them with a fresh perspective or for nostalgia to set in. I'm looking forward to that myself, because I'd love for my love of the movies to be resparked. Like right now my love for Star Wars has been resparked due to my hype for The Force Awakens. I think being a finite story with a beginning, middle and end will always be something something that stands out about this particular incarnation of the Batman film franchise that will keep people coming back over the years. I think that'll be something unique for kids growing up in the age of the endless cinematic universe to discover some day.

I was really looking forward to some great Superman films, before MOS came out. I had my three great Bat-films and had hoped Supes would have his time to shine before they brought Batman back on film again. But that didn't exactly happen as I had hoped.

I still feel MOS was such a waste of a good opportunity.

That's exactly how I felt man. I was ready to let Batman sit on the shelf for a while and was hoping I'd get invested in a great modern Superman story in the meantime.

It's kinda funny to think that Nolan played a role in designing the sandbox for the next rebooted Batman to play in even though that was probably the last thing he intended to do when helping flesh out Man of Steel.
