I hope this is ok with the mods, But with MCG already talking about a sequel where we'd see time traveling back to present day and a (now) Robert Patrick doing stem cell research and a possible return of Linda Hamilton. Some fans have expressed that they dont like this idea so what would you like to see in the sequel?

Arnold.. cuz he said He'd b bock!!

I like the idea of the sequel exploring the origins of the t1000 & robert patrick's character & I also like the idea of more Linda Hamilton but going back in time doesn't do much for me. it feels like the old formula that I was glad Salvation ditched. However there's no point in getting ancy over a friggin comment MCG made about a movie that isn't a done deal yet. Thing's can change & most likely will. Either way i'm a huge Terminator fan & will be there opening night no matter what MCG throws at us in T5.

Christian Bale trash some f**king lights :cmad:

*sighs*. Isn't this old news yet?. Seriously it's been milked for all it's worth. Let it go.

jeez...the one rare time I just make a joke post for the hell of it and you feel compelled to dog me for it.

There are other users who contribute nothing BUT shameless and stupid repetitive attempts at humor. Now THOSE are the ones you should be scorning...not me :o

Ipersonally found it odd you doing a joke, your not really that type of poster (i mean no offence by that)

The Bale rant means nothing to me, so I can take it or leave it. The people acting like Bale kicked their Dog however, god... I wish I could rant on them like Bale did. (Actually, I probably think it's tame because I've ranted on a few fellow employees like that in the past. Especially if the F'ed something up majorly that cost time, money, or put others safety at risk).

As far as the sequel goes, I don't think the time travel plot sounds that great, but I really think there is nothing solid there.

And none taken T-D-K, really...but I can try my hand at it just as much as anyone else.

But back to being civil (only thing that works for me I guess).

I won't make the pre-assumption of wanting to see a sequel until, of course, I see the initial film. But if 'Salvation' works out I'd be more than happy for a sequel. "Terminator" was one of the first properties I actually had emotional connection to (outside of Batman) so...yeah, if a sequel is warranted that would be good.

ive heard that not only he will do a sequel but also he will do a third film as well

What would you guys actually like to see, story wise?

I would like to see something that was established in T2 and then the theme was repeated in The Sarah Connor Chronicles recently, that not all the machines want the humans dead. I don't like the idea that all the machines have A.I., but blindly follow Skynet.

Y'know you might be on to something, Nivek...

There are several concepts in 'TSCC' that have untapped potential. Should that series cave, for some reason...a film is easily the next best place to take a develop them.

The idea of young John going into the future...and yes, the machines that are fighting to protect humanity from Skynet...there's a lot from the show they could look into pulling from, I'm sure.

What about for a sequel (bear with me it just popped into my head)

John Connor goes back to the present day a few days/ months before judgement day to stop judgement day ever happening, In doing so several Terminators follow him to stop him. No one believes John is from the future and is put in a asylum all the time trying to warn what is about to happen, no one believes him.

Somehow Skynet gets hold of one on the terminators that has came from the future, using it to build more and bringing on judgement day, had John never came back from the future no terminators would have followed in effect john trying to stop Judgement day actually sort of caused it.

As i said just popped into my head so if its crap or just full of stuff that wont work, feel free to say. Thought i'd mention it though.

As has been mentioned before, the idea that some A.I. might actually not be on the side of Skynet intrigues me. And the idea that humans would have to try to seek this faction out and make some kind of deal with them is extremely interesting.

I could imagine, in this new Universe where the technology of Skynet is arriving ahead of schedule, that the T-1000 model might be built earlier, but also turns out being a bit more unpredictable and unruly than Skynet wants.

It could be an epic situation, where John Connor's main seat of operations is randomly discovered by a T-700 (or something like that). The humans manage to get a few critical shots in at the T-700, disabling its radio communications (and the ability to instantly communicate with Skyner or other terminators), but it still gets away.
So now there's a short window of time before it manages to relay this information to Skynet, which would launch a massive attack on the location.
A small team of the best soldiers (including Kyle Reese) the resistance has to offer now have to give chase to the T-700, but if they fail, getting a new ally in the T-1000 model might be the humans only hope of defending the location. But what are the motives of the T-1000 model terminators?

Something like that...

It's hard for me to say what direction I want TS2 to take when I haven't seen TS yet. I've been carefully avoiding spoilers so I'm not even entirely certain as to what TS's plot is, except that it's about the war.

I'll only tentatively agree with posters here who don't want more time travel. I was already tired of that plot point by T3 and time travel always creates so many paradoxes. I'll just take a straight up war epic TYVM.

I have to say, time travel, as a plot device, is completely uninteresting to me at this point.
Possibly if they did something completely new (to the franchise) with it... for instance, they could have John Connor flung even further into the future (
drawing upon the idea in the end of the latest season of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles
), and because of his absence humans are on the verge of completely losing the war.

But time travel back in time to before Judgement Day? No thank you.

I dig the time travel portion. I wonder if they are gonna go the route that John meets John back in 2011 attempting to mentor him and if John is gonna get the "Kyle Reese effect" like Reese did in T-1: that everyone thinks he's crazy until the robots appear.

The only thing I am iffy about would the T-1000 thing. Him originally being a scientist doesn't interest me as much as the robot itself being a character. I don't really wanna know who/what made it. I just wanna see it in action. As in the Skynet's self-improvement in technology brings them to the T-1000. I will say I don't so much mind that the T-1000's ideas were created by a scientist...I am more concerned that the scientist becomes the T-1000. That I really don't care for.

To me, most of his ideas for T-5 are phenomenal. The go back and focus on issues that have happened which is interesting with the strange reoccurances of the series. And does that change the future or is fate set? Delving into these time travel paradoxes will be interesting to see...

That would be the I,Robot effect. As if one of them is a higher being and has emotions/human traits, a deeper understanding of morals. I like that as well. Should he/she be trusted?

Doesn't even have to be emotion/morals.

Remember, the T-800's can be programmed to follow orders, and to do so to the letter. Obviously Skynet is the one giving the orders by default, making it so that the T-800's (and previous models of course) have no real free will... but what if a newer model, the T-1000, was impossible to program in this way (due to the complexity of how it works)? It might not take kindly to the idea of being slaves to Skynet.

Of course emotions/morals might follow, but I think an interesting aspect could be to keep that back for a while... make it a kind of creepy alliance to make.
It would bring questions like "What happens if we help the T-1000's take down Skynet? Will they turn on us once Skynet is destroyed? Will we have exchanged one enemy for an even worse one?" to the forefront.

I guess it doesn't need emotions to you but refering to T-2 as that Arnold's model becomes more human like as he experiences us is what I am interested in. He learned to be more human from John remember? I would like to see something like that. One that isn't just standing in line programmed with orders. One with free will is what I am trying to say.

I'm not sure we're really disagreeing here. I just don't think it needs to be obvious that the motivation of the T-1000's as a group is to help the humans because it's immoral to kill them.

Some individual T-1000's could (and probably should) show similar reactions to exposure to humans as the T-800 from T2.

I agree with that, I'm just thinking of what their motive would be...Is it a programming malfunction that mankind uses them against their own robot-kind or just a more intelligent being that has considerations, a deeper thought process?
