Ok.......... 7.5 for me!! Reasons: 1. Plot holes abound...... IT'S BEEN TWO FRIKIN YEARS! You mean to tell me that Superman let the government take Zod's body to do with it what they wanted???

2. Superman left that BIG OL' HELLO KRYPTONIAN SPACE SHIP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE CITY , so the folks could prowl around in it??? 3. YOU MEAN TO TELL ME THAT HE WAS ALSO DUMB EVEN TO LEAVE THAT HUGE TERRAFORMING MACHINE JUST SITTING IN THE MIDDLE OF THE INDIANA OCEAN??? TWO YEARS since MOS?? How much dumber do they need to make Superman. His brain should be Super too, right?? Batman killed a bunch of guys in this film...... guns now???

3. ZERO explanation for that weird vision of that guy screaming at Bruce from what looked like a Boom Tube to me! Folks are saying it was the Flash? I gotta see it again.

4. That scene with Bruce clicking each video log felt so forced...... But you felt like that had to shove it in there to catch up with 8 years of Marvel movies.

5. Aquaman?? Stupid as I thought it would be but cool as I thought it would be too..... The stupid? Mamoa's barbarian "I gotta have my long hair" crap. Artists can draw his hair always going to the back.....But did you see what happened in film?? The freaking hair got in his face!!! HE COULDNT SEE IN FRONT OF HIM! Either tie it back in a ponytail or cut it off!! The cool part?? HE MADE IT TO THE BIG SCREEN BEFORE NAMOR! To see him swim off a super speed was niiiiiice!

6. Luthor knows Clark's secret now??? So it looks like Ma Kent needs to go into witness protection. Why is it all of a sudden wrong to have a secret identity?? He's toast now!

7.Superman is thrown around like a rag doll by Doomsday....but Diana puts up a better fight? You cant just wow me with special efx.....I like a story to make sense.......

8. Do you guys realize that in the DC movie universe, Superman has only been Superman for two lousy years and he's DEAD already....?? Yeah I know he'll be back. But this just seemed desperate.

Having said all of this, the good elements saved it. Irons is the best Alfred ever. Bruce was finally the scientist NOT NEEDING LUCIOUS FOX! The new entrance to the Batcave was tight!

Lex too involved with everything for his introduction to the universe basically.

Everything.
Take Lex out of the equation and consider everything you saw. There is some good in there. He is the driving force imo for those who really took issue with different aspects of film.

Oh there's good in the film to be sure.

But we dont have to be zombie koolaid drinkers and pretend the issues arent there.... Thus I gave it a 7.5

- Superman being reckless

- Batman being reckless and a murderer

I feel like Snyder didn't know what to do with Lex, and went to quirky more campy version. *sigh* Have not had a good movie Lex interpretation yet for me. Wasn't a fanboy of SV but my God I'd kill to have a Rosenbaum Lex instead of this quirky as some joked MMMmmmmm Lex.

Count the dead

Jimmy Olsen
Mercy Graves
Clark Kent
Robin

Whats next? Lois Lane? Thousands? Millions?

Still cant get over Superman not destroying all of the Kryptonian weapons into space........or just hiding them for prying government hands. .... especially Zod's body.......TWO YEARS!!! SMH:loco:

Yeah....VERY!! You'd think after the battle of Metropolis, Superman would take his battles outside the city

I was hoping Jesse would give us something similar to Rosenbaum to be honest...obviously he didn't.

What are you talking about? He fought Batman in some abandoned area of Bruce's choosing. Then he took Doomsday to space.

Call me prudish.....But Clark jumping into the tub with Lois??? Her nearly coming up out of the rub??

Look...I brought my kids.......... and Batman drops the "S-bomb"??

Wonder Woman is just kind of there.

Jimmy Olsen: War crime victim

The battle with Doomsday with terrible. There was no sense of danger or threat. Doomsday deserved better than that. He's the guy who mowed through everybody and Superman was the one guy who could stop him. They went at it multiple time and then in the final, climactic battle he makes the ultimate sacrifice. This movie didn't earn the right waste such a big moment, but, it did.

The obvious dialogue whenever an area of the city is uninhabited. It was cringe-worthy.

The fight's lame ending.

Everything about Lex Luthor's portrayal

Wonder Woman cant fly..........

She's been flying since 1985's Crisis.......... I need them to not dumb her down

I can't get over why the title fight ended. Batman, the greatest detective in the world, didn't know that Clark's mother's name was the same as his? That's information I can find on Facebook. Then he just forgets every reason he had before on why Superman needed to be killed because of this? It just seemed so out of place.

Other stuff I did not like:
Flash in the Knightmare. Didn't make a whole lot of sense and seemed forced.
The lead up to the court scene and then nothing comes from it.
Batman straight up killing people.
Doomsday fight was extremely hit-or-miss. Wonder Woman parts were cool, the rest was blah.
Nukes don't produce explosions in space.
Lex. Just everything with him.
Clark watching Batman reload a Kryptonite gas canister into his launcher and allowing Batman to not only do it, but allowing Batman to shoot him with it again.
Kryptonite. For all the flack Marvel gets for McGuffins, this was a bit one.
Computer cameos seemed forced.
Editing and pacing in general.
Lack of action for the first 2/3s of the movie.
The "thank God the city is empty because it's night time" line seemed incredibly forced.

You probably should've known the movie was going to be more of an adult movie. They didn't say it had sensuality for nothing. Not only that, but this isn't the only CBM to have language in it. I'm not sure why BvS should've been the exception. Did you take your kids to see MOS? That movie had more questionable language for kids than this movie. I'm not sure why you expected any differently from BvS.

Let's unpack this, point-by-point.

Ok.......... 7.5 for me!! Reasons: 1. Plot holes abound...... IT'S BEEN TWO FRIKIN YEARS! You mean to tell me that Superman let the government take Zod's body to do with it what they wanted???

Superman agrees at the end of Man Of Steel that he is working with the U.S. Government. Not against it. Why would Superman need Zod's body? What would he do with it?

Batman killed a bunch of guys in this film...... guns now???

Again, the government quarantined the ship. How is this a point against Superman? What was he going to do? Say, "No. You can't have this ship that just crashed through the city killing hundreds. It's mine." ?

He is working with the government as a sign of good will so that they will show him the same.

The terraforming machine in the Indian Ocean is left there because the people and governments in the area don't have the resources to move it.

3. ZERO explanation for that weird vision of that guy screaming at Bruce from what looked like a Boom Tube to me! Folks are saying it was the Flash? I gotta see it again.

It was definitely, without a doubt The Flash. And it doesn't need to be addressed in this film. It is a vision/visit from another time/place. It will have effects and ramifications in other films. It is part of a larger story they are telling. It's not just a stand-alone film.

4. That scene with Bruce clicking each video log felt so forced...... But you felt like that had to shove it in there to catch up with 8 years of Marvel movies.
Well, I don't know what scene you are talking about. It was Diana Prince who clicked through the individual clips and watched the surveillance files of the various other metahumans.

And it fits in the plot because Lex Luthor hates these modern Gods. He believes they are dangerous and could all become rulers over humans. His motives for this are clear when he tells the horror stories his father told him about living under a dictator. And Lex lived under the rule of his own abusive father. He is a man who has never had physical power, only knowledge. He views Superman as a physical power that needs to be controlled or destroyed.

He is under the impression that all myths are based on actual, living beings: the metahuman thesis. And he is investigating them all.

Diana is looking to find a 100-year-old photo of her that Lex has, so that she is not exposed as a metahuman and can live in peace.

And by the end of the film, Bruce is inspired to do better as a hero and he is aware of the larger threat coming to Earth. He knows he needs to find these metahumans and bring them together to protect the Earth. He needs to react differently to them and better to their existence than he did to Superman's. He cannot make the same mistake twice.

This I don't think I'll even respond to. I'm sorry the physics of long hair underwater bothered you. But some of the complaints that are being hurled at this film are bordering self-parody. This is one of those times.

6. Luthor knows Clark's secret now??? So it looks like Ma Kent needs to go into witness protection. Why is it all of a sudden wrong to have a secret identity?? He's toast now!

Yes. Lex knows Superman and Clark Kent are one in the same. But at the moment, with Superman dead -- there really is no danger that Martha Kent faces. Why would anyone go after her if it's not going to be a way to get to her son?

7.Superman is thrown around like a rag doll by Doomsday....but Diana puts up a better fight? You cant just wow me with special efx.....I like a story to make sense.......

Superman and Wonder Woman were both tossed around a fair amount by Doomsday. Wonder Woman was slammed back into a wall and tossed away onto the ground before she smiles, grabs her sword and returns to battle.

Superman held his own. Laying the smackdown on Doomsday around the Heroes Park statue and literally flying him into outer space and beating the hell out of him and holding his head, flying it into a collision with a nuclear weapon.

I don't know what you're talking about.

8. Do you guys realize that in the DC movie universe, Superman has only been Superman for two lousy years and he's DEAD already....?? Yeah I know he'll be back. But this just seemed desperate.

Do you realize that in The Dark Knight Trilogy Batman has been in existence for 10 years? And his tenure as the Batman goes as follows:

First appearance.
Active for about two years.
Retires for 8 years.
Returns to take down Bane.
"Dies" and retires.

Batman in the Nolan verse is only active for about 2-3 years.

In both the DCEU and the Nolan-verse, the tenure of the heroes fits the stories.

Having said all of this, the good elements saved it. Irons is the best Alfred ever. Bruce was finally the scientist NOT NEEDING LUCIOUS FOX! The new entrance to the Batcave was tight!

These points I can agree with.

I loved the sardonic, world weary Alfred who has almost become an enabler to Bruce.

I loved seeing Bruce prepare before a battle.

And yes, the new entrance to the Batcave was vintage comic book.

I can't get over why the title fight ended. Batman, the greatest detective in the world, didn't know that Clark's mother's name was the same as his? That's information I can find on Facebook.

Why would he have needed to look up Clark? Clark was a nobody. It was irrelevant. It's not like Batman would use Clark's earthly family to hurt him. It's not like he'd even think an alien would have an earthly family. There was no point to Batman looking up Clark. That's pointless information. The world's greatest detective doesn't mean that he knows everything about everyone just for the sake of knowing everything about everyone.

Bruce was finally the scientist NOT NEEDING LUCIOUS FOX!!

Bruce wasn't a scientist, and has never been one. He was an engineer. We even know from some of the marketing material that he didn't create all the stuff in his Batmobile. He stole it from Wayne Industries and put it all together. So he still needs Lucius. But only for designing the tech itself. Bruce integrates it all for his purposes.

Forced....yes
