I remember this being one of the few assigned reading books in high school that I enjoyed so much that I went ahead and finished it in one weekend as opposed to reading a few chapters at a time with the rest of the class. I'll definitely be checking this one out.

Fun fact: Tom Berenger in Platoon is one of Tom Hardy’s favorite movie characters. He wore a bandana in The Revenant as an homage.

I love my Vietnam War movies and this has a great cast, but this director hasn't impressed me with anything he's done so far which is definitely my biggest concern. I really wish Oliver Stone would come back to direct a film like this, because Platoon is one of my favorite war films of all-time.

I actually think that’s settled down since his breakup with Ariana Grande because most seem to have felt sorry for him afterwards. And I haven’t seen it yet but he also got praise for King of Staten Island.

Pete Davidson is a really solid actor IMO. I thought he was great in both King of Staten Island and Big Time Adolescence and I'm looking forward to him playing a different kind of role in this movie.
