What does everyone want if we get a sequel? Do they keep their new team name? Who could work as the villain?

The three things I'm hoping for:

Return of Zemo
Mel becoming Songbird
Abomination joining the team

I cant expect much since I guess this teams fate has a lot to do with what Doomsday/Secret Wars have in store.

But yeah, I also wish Zemo appears here. Val vs. Zemo mindplay would be wonderful with a suspense directon. Who will outsmart who?
I also wish for Ava has something more to do and..

call me a freak, but I want Walker/Ava or Walker/Yelena somehow 👀

I don't expect this movie will get a sequel. I think some people will just be folded into the main Avengers team and the rest will probably die off in Doomsday/Secret Wars and never be seen again.

With the X-Men and Fantastic Four set to become permanent staples in the MCU after Secret Wars, and the box office softening for MCU movies in general, I don't expect Marvel will continue to invest in two Avengers teams or the Thunderbolts.

Not expecting another movie. Hoping we get a reset after Secret Wars and focus on X-Men. Say Galactus wins in F4 and he returns in Secret Wars whatever they do to defeat him resets the universe.
The MCU is getting too big to where you can't realistically expect new fans to binge everything. Phased 4 & 5 did have a majority of movies that can be skipped, Wanda & Falcon/WS are the only must see D+ shows but rest can be skipped.

Hoping for a sequel and for the Thunderbolts brand to be used to integrate some lesser known or odd characters into the fold.

I enjoyed how they showed these group of grounded character try to take on a godlike figure way beyond their reach they wouldn't have done on their own.

I read they wanted to integrate Man Thing and think having characters from that realm of the marvel universe interact with someone like The Punisher, Walker, etc as some kind of macguffin or entity they are sent to investigate would make for some interesting dynamic.

I really don't want the focus to be heavily on XMen, F4 and Peter's Tingle. I think we would have had a Blade movie & Shang Chi sequel by now.

As much I loved Thunderbolts, we don't need a sequel. After Doomsday they really need to start focusing like 90% on either X-men related movies or crossover movies with major heroes. I don't think Marvel is ever going to regain its ability to elevate public interest in obscure franchises, those days are over.

I do want to see a lot more of the characters in Thunderbolts, though. Especially Sentry, he's fascinating to me.

It literally can't be a Thunderbolts sequel because of the gimmick.

Rather doing a Thunderbolts 2, Thunderbolts Born Again, Thunderbolts Redux and The Thunderbolts. They probably should fast track Avengers 7 for 2030. Waiting 7 years for a new Avengers movie, and 5 years for newer faces like Shang-Chi to show up in Avengers movie are insanely long. Back in 2021, I thought Sersi was guaranteed for Avengers 5, given she was an Avenger in the comics!

This movie is a one and done, but the characters were not. I don't see a role for a Thunderbolts 2 now.

I wish we'd get a sequel, but I don't think they were ever planning to do one. I'm not interested in Avengers/teams teaming up types of movies, so I won't be watching that. Zemo should've been involved somehow, but this version of him wouldn't work, especially with this team.

Agreed that there won’t be a sequel. Most characters in this movie are 2-tiered expendable which I think will be wiped out early in Doomsday. Yelena will survive and Sentry will be shelved the rest will be gone.

Ghost and John Walker being killed early in Doomsday, would feel like a waste but they weren't really developed in Thunderbolts anyway so I wouldn't be surprised.

I agree with others that the likelyhood of this getting a sequel is low, but I could see this potentially happening. Basically I could see them taking a page out of the Jeff Parker's Thunderbolts run. What happened in that run was that Luke Cage (with help from Songbird, Fixer, Mach-V and US agent) led the Thunderbolts as a rehabilitation program for villains in the hopes that they could turn over a new leaf.

So the MCU Thunderbolts would exist as a seperate team from the New Avengers. Basically it would be treated probabation team made up of a new roster of characters while being led by a couple of the New Avengers like Yelena and Bucky. The New Avenger leaders would be used as a example of getting a 2nd chance and if the Thunderbolts make it as a team, they could eventually be promoted to the Avengers team. Some will make it, some won't.

Let's see what happens post Secret Wars/Doomsday. They may get a huge bump after those movies
