Or we could rename it titles that coulda' woulda' been:

Example:

Spider-Man: Sticky Dawn

Sorry, that's a personal favorite.

I'm hoping they use the 'amazing spider-man' font

rather than the 'playstation 3' font

Not trolling. Just giving my opinion. He looks like a basketball.

I believe people need to re-word their opinions in order for their statements not to appear as facts.

I'm not trying to start an argument, I'm sure I've done this, but when one says "He looks like a basketball." that is an absolute statement. Opinions are not absolute.

"To me, he appears to look like a basketball." = Sounds like an opinion.

I'm glad they went with this . I was worried we were about to get "Ultimate Spider-Man"

That (Spider-man 3d ) seems even more lame now that I think about it.

I doubt they will use the comic font as it is owned by Marvel/Disney... and would only be used IF Sony paid for the rights to use it for the movie... and I doubt that Marvel/Disney would allow that, as I'm sure they are just counting the seconds until they get to make "their" Spider-Man movies... which will probably happen around 2024...

I would have accept it Ultimate Spider-Man,But I am loving"Amazing"much more!

Sony would have been complete idiots to have called it anything else. And as I said when this "reboot" was announced, once this version runs it's course and they reboot again, then they should use Spectacular Spider-Man, etc. I hope we NEVER get a series called Ultimate Spider-Man...

Or we could all just acknowledge now that it's implicit that taste is subjective. It's already obvious that 'Spider-Man sucks' is not a statement of absolute fact.

man makes a point.. common sense. but i can also see where ninja is coming from ha

What does everybody else think about this? All of the generic/classic Spider-Man products out there started being branded with "The Amazing Spider-Man" title around 2006; but around 2009/2010, all generic Spidey products were rebranded as "Spider Sense Spider-Man".

Any correlation between the timing on rebranding it? Sony obviously wouldn't want other Spidey merchandise not having the same name as their movie.

I dunno... I think the texture adds a lot of depth to the costume. You ever wonder why fan made costumes look so cheap? It's because of these kinds of nuanced details.

I think a flat material would look really bad, and since we're never going to see the costume this close up in the film, I bet you will completely forget about the texture of it.

The Amazing Spider-Man is what I was hoping for, so I am truly glad that they went for it! The title is not that important in the end, however, I'm happy they went with this.

As am I. Anyhow they called it spider-man 3d...jeez...pessimism would have kicked in big time.

I doubt there is much spidey will have over bats come 2012 but I definately think

'the amazing spider-man'

is a more catchy title than;

'the dark knight rises'

it's a small victory but a victory nonetheless :woot:

maybe because "The Amazing Spider-Man" isnt the title of the final movie in a trilogy? lol
