BvS The Tone Of This Movie.

a bit off topic but :hrt: I :hrt: Jenna :hrt:

It'd be great if he was throwing the car at a Supervillain to stop it. But yeah, that's a recreation of the original Action comics cover.

I think some of the best scenes visually (and probably tonally) involved "Supes in the real world"

i loved this scene man. very powerful image that speaks a thousand words. very good use of the Superman-silhouette while moving the plot forward.

I don't think it's the best ever, but I like it a lot and still enjoy it on blu-ray. I gave it an 8/10 and I stand by that.

I can get some of the legitimate criticisms of MOS, and there are problems here and there. Guess what? So has every single CBM made in the modern era, even the vaunted Dark Knight Trilogy. And that does not even take the individual viewers tastes into account. Still, for a modern Superman film, and one which had a finale that does not peter out like many a CBM from the last decade plus, Snyder and Co. hit a home run to my eyes.

I'm just glad superman finally got out of the Donner era. Hooray for a modern Supes!

oh here's another tone i'd like to have for the next film: the no-shakey-cam visual tone.

i love comicbook movies. but moreso comicbook movies that wont make me nauseous every time i see it :o

Well, Larry Fong is back as DP so maybe you'll get your wish. ;):p

I don't get the shakey cam complaint, especially in any digital format. It looked crystal clear in digital theatres and at home on Blu Ray? Fuggedaboutit!!

I could go either way. Shakey cam didn't offend me, but I wouldn't complain if it was gone this time.

From the way that MOS came out looking, so detailed and textured yet still with a visceral visual style, I kind of doubt that the hand held shooting is something Snyder is going to abandon.

On the other hand, this is his first sequel/follow up film. Will he keep things consistent or will he go off in a differing direction? While Nolan changed some production value details in TDKT, other than going for a more grounded looking Gotham in Dark Knight as opposed to BB, those films look consistent to my eyes. I personally hope that stays true for this MOS DCCU as well.

Man that's a buttload of acronyms. :D

I feel the tone was consistant in those films, but Gotham looked a bit different in each film. By the time of TDKR, it has become a mega-New York type of city, with a population of over 12 million and more bridges than you can shake a stick at.

:( It really is an experience. Oh well, can't wait to see Cav-El, BatFleck, and Wonder Gal on the same screen for the first time ever in 2015! :D
It's even more of an experience when it's actually filmed with Imax cameras. Having had the pleasure of The Dark Knight, the recent Mission Impossible and Dark Knight Rises, it's truly the greatest experience.

I can't wait. I absolutely love Zack Snyder and have the highest respect for him as an artist. The guy is a brilliant visual storyteller. It irritates me to no end when people try and compare and lump him and his film making style with the likes of Michael Bay (no offense Bay fans).

The difference is that when it's all said and done Snyder will get the accolades he deserves and will be counted among the all time Sci-Fi/Fantasy film making greats.

And yes... HE GETS TO PLAY WITH BATMAN NEXT! :super::batty::ww:

I think he's a very talented visual artist. He and Guillermo Del Toro make Michael Bay look ridiculous. But i dont think he's that great of a director. It also just comes down to personal preference. I think he goes overboard with CG and his usage of snap-zooms (as they like to call it) and constant lens flares lately give him this amateur feel. It's like he doesn't know who he wants to be: Joss Whedon, jump on the JJ Abrams fad, or be the zack who does his gimmicky slow-mo shots. He's experimenting and trying to find his voice. But i dont feel like he has ever delivered a truly great movie. Solid movies? Yes. Bad movies? Yes. But never fantastic.

He destroys Bay, but there's moments in his films that just look like a Michael Bay destruction/fight fest with just cleaner visuals.

IMO MoS (at least for me) is the best comic film to ever be made. Prior to MoS it would have said it was the first Iron Man. Both are incredible.
Meh. It's one of my favorites in a line of comic book movies that i feel are for the most part bad or mediocre. It's by far my favorite Superman movie. But i wouldnt put it in my top 5.

Allow some levity at the Daily Planet. Let Henry and Amy show a little more of their charm and chemistry. No silly slapstick. No forced humor.

^ This! I think this is where Terrio will come in handy.

There was a crazy amount of funny moments in Argo, and that dealt with a tense hostage situation.

would like the tone to be more clear in colors and also no shakey cam effects .

I had no problem following the action in MOS. The shaky cam was probably them trying to show just how fast and powerful the Kryptonians were in comparison to humans. They move so fast that it's hard to follow, I appreciated the touch.

Now what I really hated were the digital whip-zooms. Two or 3 times is enough, but every other scene?
