This puzzles me. Greatly. I would like to say that ignorance is bliss which is true, but without knowledge I wouldn't be myself. I prefer to stay who I am in hell then become someone I'm not in utopia.

Also Demogoblin's avatar is badass.

Spawn already said this has nothing to do with religion so don't use this thread to bring up your hatred for god

Oh I have nothing against God, it's his fan club I can't stand.

But sorry to derail, I still vote for the tree for secular reasons.

Agree with Wiseman and the others. Keep your religious desdain out of this. Wanna bash God or his "fanbase"? Take it to the religion thread. No one wants to read it here.

And to bring the thread back to its purpose, its hard to say. If we choose "Paradise", exactly what are we choosing to be ignorant of? And if we choose "Knowledge", what will we learn?

But then again, I guess thats the point? Not knowing until we choose?

Some of the happiest people in the world are ignorant and have no desire to be anything else.
How true. Maybe that's why I'm miserable.

I'm not really miserable. :yay: Actually, forget what I just said. I like gaining knowledge and asking more questions. I don't think there's anything wrong with knowledge if you're prepared to deal with what you learn.

the story doesn't ring true to me since they consider nudity bad once they get knowledge of good and evil. logically it doesn't work, since logically nudity isn't bad depending on the conditions. as a metaphore for sexual awakening it does work tho.

maybe it's more a case of a little knowledge being a dangerous thing.

I wonder what old man Jesus would think of Dr. Manhattan...
All the knowledge in the world....

BUT HE WALKS/FLOATS AROUND NAKED!!!! And very Blue....

To me, you do need knowledge to find and claim utopia. Its just a matter of individualistic desire whether they want power or eternal happiness at the of the road, so I chose both in balance for the purpose of living. Just my two cents.

i'd chose paradise...from living with all the knowledge I know it just keeps me from people or relationships i chose not to be part of...I'm good at reading people and seeing what comes next...but if i were oblivious to it there would be more options and maybe a choice to just move on if possible..

its true people that do know more are almost limited by there knowledge...like look at Asmodeous how alone he was. its like he could share what he knows with everyone or the world...

*grabs head* Sweet jesus it is way to early for the much deep thought. I will come back later.
