The Ultimate College Football Thread!!!!!!!!! OMG - - Part 2

Chip Kelly is the Buckeye's Offensive coordinator, however, it's a ridiculous expectation if anyone expects the Buckeyes offense to be the juggernaut that the 2010 Ducks offense or any other elite College Football offense.

No wonder he fled to the Chargers :loco:

Much like how Pete Carroll got out of USC while the getting was good

It is not surprising that Georgia dominated Clemson to start off the season while I was at the Benz

It is also not surprising that my 12-year-old nephew’s first celebrity crush is Molly McGrath

Ouch.... Harbaugh must be really bummed out about that....

According to NBC's Mike Florio, the Chargers are set to pay Harbaugh an annual salary of $16 million per year over the course of a five-year, $80 million contract in the head coach's return to the NFL.

LSU has lost their season opener for the fifth year in a row

A huge surprise was Idaho in Oregon kept it a close game, and they had a realistic chance of winning in the late 4th Quarter after reducing the lead to 17-14. The expected result was Oregon to demolish Idaho by more than 3 touchdowns in an uncompetitive game.
Kudos to the gamblers who bet on Idaho to cover the 44-and-half spread because that was successful since Oregon won 24-14.

College Football Week 1

Hit the Panic button for Florida State because DJ Uiagalelei has mostly played ugly, and Florid State starting 0-2 is very disappointing since they failed to finish vs Georgia Tech, and Boston College outplayed them in Sunny Florida. Florida State has looked very much like the MudDogs of the WaterBoy movie because of finding memorable entertaining ways to self-destruct and choke.

I'm very happy Nebraska avoided a lot of drama since they bulldozed Texas El Paso in a game that became a dumpster fire before halftime.

I enjoyed Tennessee demolishing an outmatched Chattanooga in a game that got worse in the second half.

Also, I enjoyed Washington bulldozed Weber State in a game that didn't have much drama even though Weber State held Washington 14 points in the first half. The rebuilt Washington Huskies had a great night in Seattle, the defense looked great although I'm to see if it can be great when they play Michigan, Southern California, and other equal-weight-class foes that can realistically challenge the Huskies defense.

It is not surprising that Notre Dame continues to be the Dallas Cowboys of college football. In all seriousness though, congratulations to Northern Illinois for their first ever win over a top 10 team. :word:

Yeah......I didn't see that one coming. The Iowa/Iowa St game was an entertaining game since Iowa St won on a 54 year field goal at the end on the game which was surprising.

Freaking dude woulda hit it from 60. He POUNDED that FG. He's a redshirt freshman and I don't see how he doesn't play on Sunday.

Kent State at Tennessee
I'm very hopeful Tennessee avoids an Any Given Saturday disappointment by outplaying an outmatched Kent State team from Start to Finish. Tennessee makes it a dumpster fire by having an excellent first half with multiple explosive offensive plays, and the game remains an entertaining embarrassment in the second half.

Northern Iowa at Nebraska
I'm hopeful that Nebraska avoids a letdown after getting the critical win vs a ranked Colorado team.
While Northern Iowa could realistically keep it a close game, Nebraska has the home crowd advantage. Also, I don't see the Northern Iowa defense able to get consistent pressure on a dual-threat QB, and Nebraska makes fewer mistakes.

Washington State at Washington
The 2024 Apple Cup is in Lumen Field where the Seattle Seahawks play home games, not Husky Stadium. Since the University of Washington is in Seattle that is why most likely more Huskies fans will be at this Apple Cup game.

I predict the Huskies defeat the Cougars in an entertaining close game because Rogers succeeds as a game manager, Rogers has time to throw because of great blocking, the Huskies make fewer mistakes, and the Huskies have a balanced offense so they'll be able to move the football with running plays and throwing plays.
The Cougars have a good defense that can create turnovers and challenge the Huskies offense, and the Cougars have a good offense that can realistically keep up with the Huskies offense.

Florida State this season is an entertaining dumpster fire that continues to find new ways to disappoint in close games that they can't close.

Well I see I was proven right about the Cougars-Huskies game being an entertaining close game, however, I was proven wrong about the Huskies defeating the Cougars mostly because the Cougars found open areas to score 3 touchdowns, the Cougars' defense proved reliable mostly holding the Huskies to field goals, and the Cougars defense was bend don't break with 4 impressive stops to prevent the Huskies from scoring the critical second touchdown late in the 4th Quarter.

I'm very less unhappy about this very disappointing outcome because the Cougars could realistically win more than 6 regular season games so it wouldn't be an awful defeat to a terrible team.
Also, because the Huskies can still make the Playoffs, although it's going to be heavyweight lifting for games 4 to 12.

It was unsurprising that Nebraska in a competitive game lost to Illinois because Illinois kept exploiting holes for the Nebraska defense, Nebraska couldn't make a game-winning field goal, and Nebraska could not defend the lead.

Florida State fans can feel amazing after Florida State finally in late September got their first win by defeating a favored California team in an entertaining low-scoring game.

It was a great rebound win for the Washington Huskies since they outplayed the NorthWestern WildCats 24-5 in Husky Stadium. The Huskies defense held the Wildcats to a measly 3 points because the other 2 points came from a safety. 2 throwing tds by Rogers, and a running td showing the Huskies' offense continues to be a reliable balanced offense.
The 2021 Apple Cup which had Washington State defeating Washington in Husky Stadium was the last time the Huskies lost a home game in Husky Stadium.

I'm very happy that Tennesssee outplayed Oklahoma in an entertaining close game since they won 25-15 in Oklahoma. It was a high-bar win for the Vols who had not won a road game vs a top-15-ranked team since 2006 which is going back to the first year Twitter was released.
Also, this was a huge win for the Vols vs the Sooners because of those 2 consecutive frustrating losses to the Sooners in the 2010s era,

Friday Night Football in New Jersey

Washington at Rutgers
As a realistic Washington fan I'm fearful of a realistic disappointment because Rutgers is a pretty good team, and the Rutgers defense is going to make it challenging for Washington to score touchdowns.
My prediction is Washington defeats Rutgers in a thrilling close game because Washington makes less mistakes, Rogers has time to throw because of great blocking, and Washington succeeds running the football so Rogers won't have to be Michael Penix or Milroe.

Hokies Hurricanes was a thrilling high-scoring game that the Hurricanes found a way to win which was very disappointing that the Hokies found a glorious way to choke.

I see I was proven right about the Scarlet Knights Huskies being a thrilling close game, however, I was proven very wrong about the Huskies defeating the Scarlet Knights 31-24 because the Scarlet Knights defeated the Huskies 21-18, and I was proven wrong about the Huskies making less mistakes than the Scarlet Knights because the exact opposite happened since the Huskies made more mistakes which included 3 missed field goals.
The disappointing result doesn't surprise me because I was fearful of Washington losing this game in Rutgers, although I'm a lot less unhappy about the disappointing result because faced with adversity including trailing 21-10 in the 4th quarter revealed that the character of Washington is they are a fearless tenacious team that won't give up when faced with adversity.
Also, because Washington can still win more than 7 regular season games, and because Tennessee is having a great undefeated season.

Tye Hokies used to be a great team way back when. When Frank Beamer was their head coach.
