The "Ultimate DC" RPG Signup/OOC Thread

So should I use a specific font when typing Conner's speech? I was going to use my usual System font and maybe type it in blue like this.

'Kay, I think I can do that.

Okay, here's what I was thinking with font:

Joker: Bold Purple Comic Sans MS
Robin: Bold Red Franklin Gothic Medium

Awesome.

Though, if you wouldn't mind putting an Application up... I'd appreciate it. Just to make it official, and all. :o

Just a question, is anyone considering playing Green Arrow/Roy Harper?

Dosn't seem so. However, since when was Roy Green Arrow?

Well, what you do doesn't have to be based on the article in Wizard. My ideas certainly aren't (seeing as how I never read said article).

I think it'd be great to play Harper as GA, but I'm already having fun playing Ollie as GA in the HvsV RPG. I have time to think it over don't I? Sides, I haven't put up my application yet...

Think it over. Hell, you could even choose a completely different character.

By the way, what was the Wizard article for Ultimate DC? I just read two parts of it, one for The Flash and one for the Teen Titans. The Teen Titans one was suprisingly similar to the idea I had, even though I never read the article. What were the other ideas for Ultimate DC they had?

All of it. But please, just PM me with the info. Don't want to cloutter up the OOC thread.

Q, are you using that reality Tv show idea?

if so....awesome....

Hey Bats, if you could PM me what they had for Bruce/Batman, I'd appreciate it. (I doubt I'll be changing what I've already gone with... but I'm interested, nonetheless.)

And consider Green Arrow reserved...

Thanks, and I'd be glad to.

How are you guys gonna handle the justice league, by the way? Similar to the ultimates or the authority?

Well, my idea was somewhat akin to The Ultimates, but not entirely. The members of the League are not government agents, but the group is funded by the government. At first, at least. You see, the government realizes that more superhumans are popping up. SO, in an effort to use what they see as a natural resource to their advantage, they bring a group of them together. Basically, the League's job is, whenever something paranormal happens, and it turns hostile, they go in and kick it's ass. The initial line up is The Flash, Green Lantern, Superman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Martian Manhunter, and The Atom serving as their tech guy. Eventually, something weird goes down in Gotham, and of course they run into Batman there. While not much help as a direct combatant, he helps come up with battle stratigies, and soon becomes an ally of the group, but not an official member. Warry of the Justice League, he forms his own team of superhuman vigilantes called the Outsiders in the event that the government uses them for less than honorable things. Eventually, the team gets fed up with the government controling them. So, Wonder Woman and Aquaman use their status as U.N. diplomats to have the team become international in nature. Part of that deal is that superhuman operatives representing the world's super powers join the team. New members include the Crimson Fox sisters from France, Rocket Red from Russia, The Knight from England, and Captain Atom from the U.S. They maintain their status as the group that handels paranormal threats.

But then, that's my idea. It may be changed later on.

That sounds very cool, and why not post the article? I'm sure everyone participating would like to read it.

Oh sure. Fine. Whatever. I just didn't want anyone to have second thoughts about their ideas. But then, that's selling the RPers around here a little short, isn't it? And, alot of what we've got is based on my ideas, so who am I to talk? :D

lol, I'm not complaining. Most of your ideas work as a great launching point.

Awesome. I alwasy saw Batman's role on an Ultimate JLA as sort of what nick fury is to the Ultimates, but that works.

Thanks. I've been wondering, howing, about how public the group should be. Part of me feels that the public should know that the team exists as a special forces unit, but besides that they shouldn't know much about them. Or would that be too much of a departure?

Actually, he's more than that in the Ultimare verison that was planned. According to Wizard, he was the most untrusted member of the Ultimate JLA. And when it came to revealing his real identity to everyone when all the others were comfortable doing so, he wouldn't. Afterwords, he ends up turning his back on the League...And then systematically defeats them all.

I always thought groups like the league were public. But, if you're trying to make them more like mystery men, than the special forces thing works. But the league has always been one of those teams the public knows about. It depends. How do you think guys like Superman, Wonder Woman, GL, etc, be portrayed in public?
