The "Ultimate Marvel" RPG Season II Sign-Up/OOC Thread

BTW guitarsingerguy, that is some crazy s@#$! I read that and was like...uhh...whoa. Sweet!

This huge threat, I like it. But it should have subplots too. Like, splitting into teams, etc etc etc. I think we should do Galactus/Silver Surfer the right way. Or do we have to follow the whole Gah Lak Tus? It was a cool idea, but could be done alot better by us I think! :woot:

I think it would be alright for people to play as three characters, but that's not this RPG's problem. There are really only a couple of people who even post, (Me, Venom, Byrd, Guitar, Cyrus, Noon, Marko, MB) so we can all have as many characters as we like, but its kind of boring to have like 24 characters controlled by eight players.
This RPG's problem is that people hold on to their characters and never post and refuse to give them up to anyone. It's wrong. There's no reason not to post as Sabretooth. Venom just said, we need more X-Men and X-men villains. You don't have to wait for someone to ask you to be involved in a storyline, you can make one on your own.
No offense, Creed, I don't know if you usually post and are just in a dry spell right now, all I know is alot of people never ever post, so sorry to use you as an example if its not merited.

Thank you. I'm pushing Darkhawk as hard as I can.

Also iv been thinking and we definatly need more characters (x-men and x-men villains in particular) so I was thinking about talking to Spidey 9X17 again about allowing players to play as a third character. What do you guys think?

Hmm. Well, I wouldn't be opposed. I already know who I'd play were that to happen, and it's a character I think could work well into the overall scheme of things.

The only thing I'd be cautious about is it being too much for people to handle, so if it were introduced, I think it'd be better that it be put on a trial basis at first, like the two character rule in the DC Comics RPG we've currently got going. If it worked out, keep the rule. If people can't handle it, have them drop a character to ease the stress.

That's why I think this rule needs a little more enforcement, next season:

-You must post at least once every two weeks, though it is preferred that you post more. If you go two weeks without a post without prior notice, your character is up for grabs.

That way, good characters aren't kept from being actively played, and perhaps other players are encouraged to post more regularly.

Word MB... word.

That way we don't see more of this scenario:

"Hey can I play as Wolverine?"

"No. Someone else has him."

"Really? Do they post often?"

"Yes, every 12 - 18 months."

"Okay, I guess I won't join your game after all."

"Good, we're at maximum capacity anyways."

I understand. Originally I stopped posting because I had a story idea working with Magneto, until he was dropped out of nowhere and I was left out to dry (so I was pissed off). I worked out another thing with OC, but he hasn't had access to a computer for going on a few months now, so that was scratched. I asked around a few times to see if anyone was interested in a story, but nobody responded.

I also was trying to resurrect the Amalgam RPG because we had a few really badass stories going, but people dropped like flies until it was just a few of us and the OC ended up dropping to so I had nobody to help get it going again. All I had were 6 people telling me they'd come back if it got active and I was the only one posting and got tired of running what just about turned into a fanfic more than an RPG, lol.

Also, when I stopped posting, the RPG was still highly active to be honest because it was around the end of summer, so it was not a big deal. I may begin posting again soon, but will most likely wait until Season 3 so it's not a waste, hence the Season 3 inquiries.

So perhaps it is warranted, but I guess it only stands out at the moment due to the lack of posting. I have a feeling posting will go back up in the next few weeks due to winter holidays and such.

Also, if anyone does have any ideas for a Sabretooth involvement PM me before Season 3 so I have notice as I will be working for the next week straight since training. After that I will have Friday and Saturdays off which means I will be able to post quite a bit then, heh.

This is off-topic but, what's up with the anti-ultimates thing? We've got Sandman, Electro, Ock, Namor, Thing, and Bullseye all out. So now I think all that leaves is Cap vs. Hulk and Thor vs. Loki.
Anyone have any new info on Unstoppable? If he hasn't been around for awhile, maybe we should just let Byrd finish up with him.
Also, it would be good if Watchman and Sachs wrapped this thing up soon. Not to be rude, but very little has happened and my characters are both out of commission until this thing is over. :csad:

Unstoppable's been having some Computer problems, I PM'd him last night and he said he was gonna try to finish it up.

Also, I think the three character thing should be put on trail basis and we should have strict time limits of inactivity.

I agree with you about enforcing the two week inactivity rule, I know it my fault for being too lenient on people. But I will work on that. And I like the idea about doing a trial run for third character play, if I get the ok from Spidey9X17 we'll select two or three people (or whoever wants to play with a third character) and see what happens.

Another thing, with the three character rule. As well as getting approval from Spidey 9X17 we should take a vote of all the active RPers and see if they say Yay or Nay.

all do respect Byrd I really dont think we need a roster-wide vote, I mean its not like we're going to be making people take up a third character.

Third characters? over my head here!

Thanks for the feedback on galactus, I think all characters would benefit, because how would the streets be affected by a near apocalypse? crime would go awol! Think it would be fun, and we would spend i while trying to work it out, give us lotsa stuff? Glad you like it. I will write up and opening post for the season if you want(after all it was my idea, lol:)) so it can set the whole scene, before everyone posts and reacts? If you're interested? I can have it finished tomorrow and send it to you venom160?

Let me know anyways! I'm really into this!

Sorry for leaving the Loki/Thor battle up in the air. I think I'm going to have Odin come down to deal with Loki.

but to be fair, silver surfer versus pretty much anyone won't last long:huh:

Well Galactus casting a shadow over NY would change things a lot. Looting and stuff. We can sort it all out, i'll post the set up post in here tomorrow so people can see stuff that's being set up....

Well in the Ultimate U. There are many silver surfers.

Here's what Wikipeida says about it.

The Ultimate Silver Surfers are silvery humanoids, with the ability to grow wings, morph into an ovoid or take an intermediary form, where they glide on the oval surface like it was a surfboard. The silver beings have shown the ability to manipulate large quantities of energy, and in one case possess a mouth with several rows of teeth that they can open extraordinarily wide - possibly as an application of a vaster set of metamorphical abilities. In general, though never stated as such, they resemble nanomorph entities of fiction such as Terminator 2's T-1000.

The silver beings have been sent to the Earth by Gah Lak Tus to start mass suicides, in order to reduce the population's resistance and allow Gah Lak Tus to conserve energy to exterminate and break down the planet into useful energy. Suicide cults founded by the creatures appear all across the world as Gah Lak Tus draws near, with the intent of engineering mass suicides to placate "the angry god."

The Silver Surfer isn't one being in the Ultimate Universe. There's an army of them. :o

...

Damn you! Beat me to it. :cmad:

Either way, I can't see shocker going head to head with a silver surfer that easily, but we can make some artistic license :) pictures/scans anyone?

Well, since I'm done with Bullseye, I'm posting this app for the rest of this season. to set things up with my new character next season.

ULTIMATE MARVEL RPG SIGN-UP FORM

Screen Name:
Byrd_Man

Character you would like to play: General Nick Fury

Powers and a brief description of the character in proper English:
Fury has no trace of the Infinity Formula or other enhancements that the regular continuity's Fury has claimed. He is an exceptional combatant and strategist and a gifted field leader. He operates with technology years ahead of traditional forces, including the latest experimental weaponry, and some form of projected invisibility and the ability to walk through solid matter. These powers have very limited windows due to massive expense for any moment of 'uptime;' costs for these literally burn millions of dollars per microsecond. Fury is constantly monitored and shadowed by dozens of S.H.I.E.L.D. agents and all observation technology known - and a few that are not.

Three reasons why you have chosen that character:

1. He's the badass of the Ultimate Marvel U.

2. I'm gonna use him to set things up with my character next season

3. A small chance to mention something about mother ****ing snakes on a mother ****ing plane.

What can you bring to this game?
Nicholas Joesph Mutha F**king Fury!

How many times do you intend on posting a DAY IN the RPG: as many as needed

Do you know how to post pictures on the hype boards:
