For me the movie fell apart when you find out you can take/give away your time (btw your time is also how long you can stay alive) by a simple turn of wrist. I can imagine all the robberies from that alone.
And people think schoolyard bullying is bad now...

no i can look over that, it's just...puns man. and i love puns, but really, if you live in a world where lifespan adjustments are the main currency and there are people who have lived a youthful life for centuries, i'd hope they'd have long sense not only exhausted the possible situational puns, but worn them out such that there use would be socially unacceptable. THAT was the world breaker for me.

no, your clock doesn't start for any reason until your 25th birthday, which is also the point at which you stop aging. also angel's kid is evil.

Kind of like someone saying "Hot enough for ya?" in an apocalyptic desert wasteland movie...

Justin Timberlake isn't a convincing leading man to me and I didn't give a rats ass about his and Amanda Seyfried Bonnie and Clyde knock off relationship.

Cillian Murphy was the best thing in the movie.

In Time just seemed like a movie that started off with a decent idea and then the studio washing machine got it, put it in the dryer, ruined it, tried to make it better with some needle and thread and at the end you have a miniaturized version of your favorite sweater.

Its like fim critic Mark Kermode said In Time is like one of those Twilight Zone anthology tv shows episodes except they tried to extend it into a movie and run out of steam halfway

I'm worried about the state of my country. There's this line being drawn between the "locals" and the "Foreign talent" with the locals feeling that the Government is siding with the foreigners because their presence undermines the real demands of the people.

It's weird because I work in a department where I'm one of 4 Singaporeans working in a department of 16 fellow engineers reporting to a Norwegian boss. This hasn't bothered me before but...Well, I take the train a lot. My eyes wander, looking at girls mainly but I tend to see that the trains aren't really full of Singaporeans anymore.

People will be like "Yeah well, how can you tell? A Singaporean Chinese is the same as a PRC (People's Republic Chinese)" but it isn't. I've grown up with many local Chinese friends all my life here. I have more Chinese friends than I do Malay or Indian simply by the demographics of Singapore. I know the Hokkien slang they use, the reliance on certain English words they use in their speech, their accent. On the train, full of PRCs, Bangladeshis, Nepalese and Filipinos...I dunno. I feel...sad.

I'm part of a shrinking population. I'm dual heritage. My father is Indian, my mum is Malay. Muslim on both sides. But I've always identified myself as Malay because it was my first language. I get stopped at train stations for completely "random" bag checks while so many others walk free because they don't fall under the criteria of "possible terrorist" suspect. It's like I feel I shouldn't be treated this way. I've served, both by conscription and as a regular. I took care of my guys regardless or colour or faith.

I can't go to Friday prayers because I can't justify the time off from work since I'm the only Muslim in my department. That part really hurts.

I fear I'm becoming...Xenophobic. Like I'm feeling marginalized. But I know I'm not. Its just...sometimes the world stacks shiyt up against you all at once.

I just can't take Timberlake as a serious actor.

You should be ashamed.

Speaking of TV everybody should have watched, I'm going through Justice League again.

Man, they really f**ked the Shade up. I don't know why it pisses me off so much. :o

Because Shade in the comic books is :awesome: and the epitome of both classy gentleman coolness and bad ass

But Shade in the cartoon is forever being beaten up by everyone :csad:

Though they did a great job on the other villains though

no offence, but that sounds like alot of things i hear racists say. that's how it starts man. the future is a place where every country will be ethnically diverse (except maybe korea...**** if they aren't all the same genetically.) it seems to me that some asian countries are having a harder time with this than most places, but it's just the way things are going.

the not being able to go to prayers thing is a legit issue though, you should speak to someone about that.

Fun on a bun

Sorry to hear you didn't enjoy the film that much though I thought it sounded good :csad:

I feel like making sweet love to my LOTR's extended blu ray boxset. The boxset itself looks amazing and I spent almost 2 hours watching the extras and that's just half of the first extras disc. There's 3 extras discs for each film :wow::hrt:

Yeah but each film has one new documentary that is about 90 mins a piece. The thing is that I never watched these extras before so it's all new to me. I calculated all the extras for just the Fellowship of the Ring extended blu ray and it's about 8 hours long.

so you spent roughly $100 on less than 6 hrs oh media you don't already own but will likely be online in the next few days anyway? good job

My Mum teaches IT to international students and that matches her findings as well...
