Another good example of a shieldmaiden would be Aowyn from the Lord of the Rings. Not only did her loins burn for Aragorn, but she killed the Witch King.

Man, this Hulu Plus thing isn't turning out well. I watched the first few episodes of Modern Family via Netflix, and though I would just keep going with that free week of Hulu Plus, but nope, they only have the second season :/

Jesus, $125? I mean, 1200 pages is a large size, even for an Omnibus, but damn. I have the HC Omnibus of their X-Force...wonder if I can sell that and pick this up and get it all.

I think I'm still somewhere around page 100 of American Gods. I leave my books in the car and I only ever read while eating after work.

As long as I manage to finish this book before the show gets made, I'm golden.

It's a solid book overall. I remember thinking that I felt Gaiman really didn't use the concept to its utmost potential, but I couldn't say why I felt like at this point since it's been so long ago.

It's worth every penny.

Amazon will probably knock off a large chunk off the price anyway. You can usually save around 50 bucks off Marvel omnibi through them.
