Casino Royale should be filmed in UK since it is a British movie and for Batman Begins sequel I don't care where it's filmed long as the movie is good.

What will they do with the giant Gotham City sets at Shepperton if the filming leaves the UK? I thought that they didn't dismantle them because they were anticipating having to use them again for the sequel.

maybe more of the movie this time will be filmed in chicago? ofcourse if i were the mayor of chicago i wouldn't want film crews blowing up man hole covers with steam coming out of it destroying downtown chicago. Good Idea for them to make a set of chicago. Well there a plenty of studios they can use like the WB lot unless its already taken for

I hope this dosn't make it so that Gotham is a one street set with buildings pushed together like in Batman Returns.

wasn't a lot of Begins filmed in the UK? As long as it looks good, I don't care where they shoot it.

UPDATE

Good news for scousers.

Batman film may swoop into Liverpool
Oct 13 2006

By Catherine Jones, Liverpool Echo

THE caped crusader could be on his way to Liverpool.

Film location manager Robin Higgs was in the city yesterday looking at locations for the sequel to the smash movie Batman Begins.

The 2005 film featured British star Christian Bale as Batman - and his alter ego Bruce Wayne - and explored how the superhero came to first have and use his powers.

It was filmed in Iceland, Chicago and London and at Britain's famous Shepperton Studios.

Now the follow-up, which is due to start filming early next year, could feature scenes shot in Liverpool if movie-makers like what they see.

Thenew film, called The Dark Knight, will feature Oscar contender Heath Ledger as villain The Joker.

A spokesman for Liverpool Film Office said today: "Robin Higgs was in Liverpool scoping out the city, mainly along the waterfront.

"He's looking to bring the director Christopher Nolan up at the end of the month. However, they are also looking at Yorkshire, Glasgow and parts of London as well.

"Filming will start in 2007 and the film is due out during Capital of Culture year."

The Liverpool Film Office was established in 1989.

The main objectives are to supportlocal film makers and to promote Liverpool to national and international producers and film directors.

Exactly, which is why I think the studio took the future costs into consideration. I don't think TDK has anything to worry about.

Some pics of the Liverpool waterfront, where they're scouting. Looks a lot like Nolan's Gotham.

I live in London and London is better! lol

Liverpool is worse than the Narrows!

That Liverpool waterfront looks good..........any pics of Yorkshire and Glasgow?

from those pics, I would like to see an amalgma of the Liverpool waterfront, and Chicago waterfront. I think it would show two different sides of the city where there are some newer buildings (chicago) mixed in with the rich heritage of a city that is as old and storied as Gotham (liverpool)

^That's a great point - maybe like the first film did a combination of London and Chicago, this time we'll have it expanded some more.........

Its hard to tell what they want in Yorkshire or Glasgow cause theres quite a few possibilities.

I don't think they're going to shoot in all 3 cities. This is Glasgow....

Hmm, well they probably won't be coming to my hometown of York, unless Batman is visiting Diagon Alley

Batman on top of York cathedral would be cool though:

I doubt if anything will come of these rumours, theres always tonnes of location buzz in local papers. If Nolan does use any of them they'll probably be for very specific shots or even just one element of a composite. There's not alot in England that looks like Gotham. I thought they shot at Canary Wharf in London but I never noticed anything like that in the film. I was expecting them to film by the tube station. Liverpool might make an ok docks though, where did they film that stuff for Begins?

Ah, I remember the York cathedral! We sang there for a choir trip to England. It's a beautiful building, and if they feature it in a Batman movie, I'd be able to recognize it, LOL.
