Robert Zemekis for TF2!
he knows how to use CGI( not talking about hes CGI movies).
he knows how to make a serious movie.

yeah he would be a good choice. but it looks like he is now experimenting with 100% CGI humasn.

Megan Fox 10 on 10
The Film 8 on 10

I enjoyed this out of all the films i'd seen this summer, it totally took me by suprise. The fact that my lack of interest initially meant I kept out of spoiler forums etc really helped I think. It's really got me considering just staying away from the dark knight forum from now on

I completely agree with all of this, in a first 2 hour Transformers movie, you have to see it through the eyes of humans, otherwise all realting to the characters is lost, as how can we realte to 20 foot robots?

In the sequel, i can almost guarantee the robots will get more focus. For a 1st movie, i think they did pretty well, i was actually sorry when Jazz died, and i cared for Optimus and Bumblebee A LOT. BB's relationship with Sam was the heart of the movie and provided the most emotional moments IMO.

How did we relate to, say, foot tall toys like Buzz and Woody in "Toy Story?" Or the car characters in "Cars?" They were well-written and given prominence; the human characters were vastly secondary. "Transformers" should have been the same. And I don't think the TF will get more prominence in a sequel because, to the director, it's the people and the piss jokes that are important. As a general action flick, I'd give TF a 9; as a TF movie, I'd give it a 5.

Please consider that the budget is ONLY 150 mil and because of that you can't have ALL robot show in this movie(like the shows you mentioned)-this is live action not cartoon show anyways. The movie makers are limited to what they can do, while fans are NOT LIMITED to how much they can complain-but at least they can think first before they complain.

Listen, SR have a budget of 210 mil and that movie is full of crappy CGI in very important scenes. I cringe everytime I think about it. And you know what, it crawled in the BO just to make its own budget & sequel is not guaranteed.

People(mostly few fans) need to stop comlaining about "more robots and less human" because you will get this in the next movie. The important part right now is that TF is making money in the BO so you can get what you wish. Enjoy the movie right now for what it is.

-100 % CGI movies with cartoony people.
-live action movie with a budget of 150 milions.

hmmmmm try again.

its very simple guys. you can have more transformers with cheaper effects or you have like they were in that movie with groundbreaking effects.

Exactly, you are never going to get a movie were the Transformers are on screen 90% of the time because the budget would be too high. IMO, on this budget, what they did was astonishing in terms of effects.

Finally wrote up my review! It's REALLY REALLY long well the review itself not that much but the whole report takes a few free minutes of free time to read. I'll just link to my post on my forum if you guys want to read it, i dont want to be responsible for direct damage to your eye sight! :D

Good review MM.
What's great about this movie is the "WOW" factor the filmmakers managed to inject. Very similar to Batman 89 (at the time) in my opinion.

I'm just curious, why was Optimus Prime portrayed as such a ***** compared to Megatron?

Some things with Optimus did seem a bit out of character or "off." Like his impatience at Sam's house. But I don't think he was a p**sy. Megs was just badass.

Yeah but so is Prime, I mean they are the top two they are pretty much even.

Yeah but so is Prime, I mean they are the top two they are pretty much even.

Prime worries about collateral damage (like he said when BB got captured). Megs doesn't. Prime wants to reason with Megs (as evidenced by their conversation). Megs doesn't care. All these things served to give Megatron an advantage.

Having said that, the cutting away from their fight was downright maddening. I almost threw my diet coke at the screen.

prime wanted to kill himself with the cube .

he is like superman. :woot:

it was not showed very clearly but IMO prime was holding back in the fight a little. but on the other hand megatron is just bigger.

the backyard scene is a little to long. if they would cut it down a little before rendering we could have more CGI fighting in the city.

something i noticed the last time i watched the movie.
Sam and Mikaela were running to OP when he landed. OP sees them and runs away ? because this is how it looked in the movie. the first time i didnt noticed.
i guess bad editing?

He was nekkid and Mikaela was around. The man had to put on something shiny first before making first contact. Decency matters, dude.

I don't buy that crap about Prime. I mean I know that is his character, but they really depectied Megatron as being out of anyone's league even Prime's it was very upsetting.

As for the movie itself, I really enjoyed it. I've seen it three times but my biggest problem are all of the damn close ups. Could we back out a little please?

I didn't notice it so much the first time, but the second and third I was like wtf, come on pan out just 10 feet so I can see what the hell is going on!

Prime was concerned about the humans scattered around as well remember, he didnt want ANY of them to be harmed. IMO thats why he wasnt throwing Meg's everywere like Meg's was doing to him.

Megatron was the strongest TF in the movie because he was the only one in his true cybertronian form. It has been concieved (by fans such as i) that when a TF scans an earth mode, he looses some of his durablity and strength beacuse he now has the makings of an inferior alt mode-an earth bound one.
Megatron remaining in his Cybertronian form preserved his natural 'born' strengths and abilities. He was still in his purest form.

So it makes sense that he kicked Primes ass from that standpoint.

I dont really buy that. If that's the case, why didnt the Autobots just return to their cybertonion modes at will then for the duration of the battle? Bumblebee showed just how super-easy it was for them to morph their alt-modes. Moreso, Optimus Prime, being somewhat intelligent would have kept a backup Autobot in Cybertonion mode somewhere in reserve and in hiding.

Yeah I don't buy it either, but good theory

It's possible. But if that was the case, they could have done a better job of depicting it. It honestly didn't seem like that to me. They didn't show him looking around and inspecting the area everytime he "couldn't throw a punch". Its really just bad editing becuase what happened was, lets say they had hypothetical 20 scenes, 10 of prime hitting megs, and 10 of megs hitting prime. They said, oh this scene is cool, keep it, oh scene isn't that great, get rid of it. and then it ended up with 2 for pirme and 8 for megs. Does this make sense? Basically, when they were making the cuts, pirme got shafted, and it ends up looking like meg dominated.

You make it seem like Prime should've owned Megatron. Megatron isn't a pushover and there have been plenty of times when Megatron owned the **** out of Prime.

Megatron is just as bad ass as Prime is.

Shame Prime didn't find a better area to fight Megs, huh?
Instead, he gets thrown into a building, possibly killing a few humans.
