If anyone's in a GIFin' mood, could I get an avatar of Carl shooting the zombie at the beginning? Like the close-up shot before he pulls the trigger, the zombie getting shot, and Carl's face after?

That zombie Carl shoots resembles the Morlocks from "The Time MAchine" with Buy Pearce. Do they share special effects guys?

I think the writers were very aware of some of the problems with season 2, and they decided to completely do things better this time around. At least in this first episode, it shows. The fact that the annoying characters from the previous seasons are not as annoying as we remember.

When considering the whole " zombie baby is going to eat me from the inside " thing from Lori, did the writers lapse on babies not having teeth until they were 6 months old or are we supposed to think Lori doesn't know that even though she has a kid already. I guess it could claw her or something. But seems kind of silly, although at the same time terrifying.

Leg chopping and helmet face peeling doesn't bother me. But that close up zombie eyeball at the start of the show was just...ewwlll...

I think she said the she was afraid the baby would tear her apart from the inside, that doesn't necessarily mean to eat her.

It's not automatic that a pregnant girl gets fat, for some women it only effects (obviously) the belly.

Also, malnutrition. While she is getting double/triple rations, she still not eating enough as she probably should be.

I really enjoyed the premiere, the prison set up for this season is awesome in my view and I liked the armored guard zombies!

Glad they saved Hershel, Rick went all Bauer on that infected leg.

Too many in here know way too much about the books to read too often.

On a side note, man did Maggie get even hotter?

Glad I am not the only one to think Maggie is fine, she makes up for the general lack of hottness on the show.

It was so odd, I was saying to myself "Kid, you are like 10, it's not happening".

So are Carol and Daryl official now? I'm not sure if I heard right but it sounded like Carol asked him if he wanted to "mess around" and then they went off together.

That caught me by surprise as I thought she saw it more as a mother/son dynamic last season, even though I just read on the other page she is only a couple of years older than him.

The leg amputation and the walker's face tearing off with his helmet was gross even for this show.

Agreed, especially the helmet bit.

So these zombies are basically... magic?

I mean, most zombie stories try to give it some (BS) scientific explanation (virus, genetic engineering, etc). They touched on it a bit with Jenner.

But these things seem to not function on any pseudo-scienticic level. They don't need to eat... or rest... They're apparently immortal.
