The Watchers follows Mina, a 28-year old artist who gets stranded in an expansive, untouched forest in western Ireland. When Mina finds shelter, she unknowingly becomes trapped alongside three strangers that are watched and stalked by mysterious creatures each night.

New Line really isn’t ****ing around when it comes to horror right now.

I saw a different teaser weeks ago with Night Swim (i think?) that was just mostly Dakota Fanning wandering around that house and it didn't show what was going on outside. Both teasers are pretty effective but the one I saw was more mysterious.

Something is telling me to doubt the RT score on this one. Seeing it Saturday, so I'll judge for myself.

This one was going to entirely depend on reviews for whether I see it or not. Yeah, this is gonna be a skip for me.

The movie was entertaining. Not the best horror movie, but certainly a good and fun film.

Movie was pretty good, but I think the problem was WB promoted this as a scary movie when it's really an atmospheric, character-driven fantasy/mystery and that's why the critics were being harsh to this; they were mislead. Ishana borrowed a few minor traits from her dad like the twist ending (a genuinely good one, too, one I didn't see coming), but the focus on characters and the more cinematic style of filming certain scenes (the shots of Ireland and the woods are gorgeous) with solid acting.

Overall, pretty good start for a directorial debut. Don't mind seeing her direct more going forward.
