While in the lounge, myself and a few other posters were discussing our home towns. It got me thinking about all my friends on The Hype! that I converse with regularly, yet I don't know where they live.

So I searched for a thread like this, and after I couldn't find one I thought it would be a good idea to start one.

So this thread is all about your home town. Where you live, what you love about it, what you hate about it and what your town is known for.

Maybe someone else on The Hype lives down the street form you, and you never even knew!
Please fell free to post pics of your town for all of us who like to travel so we can get a good visual.

I will start the discussion off by introducing my home town:

Tampa, Fl!

Tampa is the best town I have ever been to and I am glad to call it home.
Widely known for it's night life, beaches, and rich history, Tampa is known for many things, such as it's skateboarding community (Tampa has been featured in Tony Hawk games and an episode of Rob and Big) and it's mafia origins earned the city the nick name "The Cigar City", as read in the book "The Cigar City Mafia".
Clearwater, part of the Tampa Bay area, is the birthplace of Scientology and it's not uncommon to spot the likes of Tom Cruise and John Travolta. Speaking of John Travolta, Tampa was setting for the movie "The Punisher".

Tampa has a a Super-bowl ring AND a Stanley Cup. It is also the home to many pro wrestlers, such as Hulk Hogan, The Undertaker, Chris Jericho and The Big Show.

In 2008, Tampa was ranked as the 8th cleanest city in America by Yahoo! Real Estate and 5th best outdoor city by Forbes. A 2004 survey by the NYU newspaper ranked Tampa as a top city for 20-somethings.

And you haven't lived untill you have been to Gasparilla. It is Mardi-Gras with PIRATES!

This is the legendary "Royal Court Flats" in Basildon, Essex. Home of the "hoody" and the words "innit" and "issit".

The best thing about living here? Well, I haven't gotta try very hard to get some weed :D Oh and you see the little shop at the bottom of that block? I've got a tab in there, it's sweet. If I don't have any money, he'll sort me out

The worst thing about living here? Endless muggins, stabbings, sometimes shootings. The little ****ers who are out playing football at 3 in the fricking morning!!

But really, this is my sorta place :D It's where i belong!

Townsville, Queensland, Australia. Not my home town but the town I call home.

Our beach is gorgeous, despite the occasional crocodile.

The City is built around a mountain called Castle Hill, which has a giant "saint" painted on the side. It's been there forever and is a cool part of the city's history.

Here's a picture of Mount Hood at sunrise (which is 11,249 feet or 3,429 meters) tall.

This is Multnomah Falls which has two falls. The top falls into a small pond. The lower falls then falls from that pond to a larger one. The top falls is 542 feet (165 m) and the lower falls of 69 feet (21 m), with a gradual 9 foot (3 m) drop in elevation between the two, the total height of the waterfall is conventionally given as 620 feet .

Not a mega city by any means, but a fantastic town with great eating joints, shopping, historical landmarks, hot women, and home to the University of Georgia..an fabulous academic and athletic institution.

Anyone else want to share pictures of their hometown?

Lakeland, FL for the past few years and before that Miami, FL for most of my life.

Chicago, IL

And if I had to be perfectly honest about it, I would say that Chicago is like a giant ghetto with one nice part right in the middle; like how there's always that one area in a rough neighborhood that's actually really nice and kinda quiet but as soon as you go one block and turn the corner you're in the REALLY bad part.

So, the best part is pretty much the downtown area (The Loop) and a few places on the North Side and Hype Park. You've got the museums, theaters, Millenium Park, the Art Institute, everything; although it would be cool if there was actually a mall down here.

The bad part...pretty much everything else. If it's not the hundreds of gangs; it's the politics, the weather, the traffic, the taxes, the die hard Cubs fans, etc.
